This is perfect for casual non audio-phile indoor/outdoor use. I bought this to have some tunes outside while myself and a few other workmen are restoring a barn on my property. It is exactly what I needed. I wanted something I didn't mind getting a bit messed up (paint splatters, dings, etc). It's small, lightweight, inexpensive and very functional. The sound quality is decent (especially outdoors with other ambient noise) and though it definitely doesn't have some cooler features (shuffle, etc), it works great for what I wanted it for. I was worried after I read some of the reviews (after I purchased it) that it didn't come with a power cord, but mine did, so I was very happy I didn't have to go out and find one that fit, though I imagine that wouldn't have been that difficult at Radio Shack or some other type of store. All around, I'd say it's a 4 stars for what it is. If you're expecting amazing indoor sound, I'd rate it lower, but it's obviously for pool-side or kids room style use. And if you rate it on what it's meant to be used for, it's decent.Digital camera Review: Cheap and functional - then broken

Not the best, but certainly a great value for the price. Like all the previous reviews say, it's a little tinny and has a little hum when it's on. Every now and then it can't read a CD and you have to take the CD out and reinsert it. But I give it 4-stars because I would buy it again in a heartbeat for under $20.
Amended July 05, 2009: I'd change the review to 2 stars if I could. The CD player just went kaput! It was fine while it lasted, but now I wish I would've spent the extra $20 more and gotten a Sony.

I was not impressed with this CD player. It has a tinny sound to it and the volume is limited. Would not be good for the outdoors, where I bought it for. The CD player skips, so I know this is a defective unit thus far. The radio reception is also sub-par. Some of the markings (decals) are rubbed off and the unit had some scratches on it like it was a return or refurb. I bought this for my [...]. The price was right and she needed a cd player so she can jam out in her room whenever she wanted to. She loves the fact that she has her "own" cd player. The sound is great and can be turned up very loud. There are too many flashy features which makes it easy to use and I wouldn't expect there to be too many considering I got it for under [...]. I like that it has the option for batteries to take on the go with you or you can plug it in as well. If you are looking for an inexpensive cd player that can be used in the kitchen while you are cooking or in your child's room for their jam session this is the one for you.
