Although the installation was quite simple the u s b end fitted too loosely. It didn`t work with the scanner. Maybe this could be included as info for future users. Is there a similar product for scanners?
Digital camera Review: Adapter Cable Summary: 5 Stars
An old HP LaserJet4L printer. Cable to convert old hook up to USB port. Extremely
simple hook up, plug in, and away we go. Computer recognized the printer without
having to install a driver.
Digital camera Review: Adapter Used to Connect Win 7 PC to HP Laserjet 1100 Printer Summary: 5 Stars
I used this adapter today to connect my old HP 1100 Laserjet printer to a new Dell Windows 7 PC. I first plugged the adapter by itself into the PC USB port & let Win 7 find a driver. I then connected it to the printer cable. Initially it would not print. I used Win 7 printer troublehooting to identify the printer. The 1100 wasn't on the initial ist but Win 7 advised me to download updates. It was on the updated list. Once I identified the printer for Win 7 it found the driver & it works so far.
Digital camera Review: Almost flawless but needed some tweaking Summary: 4 Stars
Everything went fine to connect a new Lenovo laptop without parallel ports to my old HP laserjet 2100, BUT the printer would not print after it received the file from the computer. To solve the problem I had to change the data type of the print processor in the advanced configuration of the printer from RAW to RAW [FF auto]. After that, there seem to be no problems. In the previous computer with the real parallel port, I didn't have to do that for the printer to print properly. I gave 4 stars for the extra configuration step involved.
Digital camera Review: As Advertised Summary: 5 Stars
Took it out of the package, pluggeed the big end into the cable from my old HP Color LaserJet 8500 and the small end into the USB port on my Dell Inspiron with Vista and it works. No problems printing.
The hardest part was taking it out of its package.
