I've used this cord successfully with an old Ipod but the battery was losing charge so I bought a new Nano to replace it. Lo and behold I plug in the Nano and no sound comes out of my car's speakers. Bought this without looking at many of the other reviews otherwise I would have seen it doesn't work with the Ipod touches. So now I have this cable and I took the casing off the end and found that if you "connect pin 11 to pins 15/16, then
connect that to pin 21 with a 68kOhm resistor it will use the audio line out. This is because the device needs to be told to redirect the signal to the Line Out pins rather than to the built-in speaker."-Got that from pinouts.ru
I'm pretty good at soldering but the small pins on this look pretty challenging.
