I use this to feed my PS3 signal to my monitor and it works beautifully. Despite the fact that my monitor is not HD and only supports 480p, I have been pleased with the quality I have been getting. Of course, my monitor is not my primary screen, and switching back and forth between my monitor and TV can cause some problems as the PS3 gets "confused" about what video signal to send out. For instance, I might use an HDMI cable to use the PS3 on my TV at 1080p, then bring it back to my monitor, to which my monitor tells me that the signal is not supported. The problem occurs with the included A/V cable or a component cable. There is a simple solution to this problem. While the PS3 is off with the red light on, hold the power button for five-six seconds until the system beeps a few times in a row. The PS3 will then boot up and ask what video settings you want. I purchase this cable and when it arrived, I thought it looked pretty decent. It look kinda beefy. It's not as beefy as a Monster but I didn't pay for the monster price. The picture was good and the connection was straight forward. I did alittle research before buying this and found it to be the best value. I paid about $17.00 for this, Walmart had something similair for $30.00, Monster of course was way over $100.00. I highly recommend this if you want a decent cable without spending alot of money.

I used this cable to connect my old xp machine to my hdtv to use as a media center. The product does exactly what it is meant to do, without any problems whatsoever. I don't know if I would trust anything cheaper than this (I've had a few bad experiences in the past), but I would definitely not pay a penny more.
The audio can be tricky, since this doesn't actually pass any audio to your TV. Most hdtv's (including my Panasonic plasma) allow you to connect your audio to ANY audio jack in the TV, and then go through the settings to "pair" that audio jack with the hdmi input. Just check the manual or do a search online for it.
As for resolution, I had to set my machine (with a very old video card) to a lower resolution. Just play around with different resolutions until you find one that fits nicely. Mine has a thin black bar going around the screen, since an actual 720p resolution was somehow too large. However, the black bar is no problem for us, and I don't even notice it most of the time. Nothing is cut off unless you pick a resolution that is too high for the TV.
