This hub interfered with the operations of our cordless mouse. I don't whether it had something to do with the proximity of its placement to the cordless mouse sensor. But at any rate, it didn't function properly.
We returned this one.

There are some very common problems with USB hubs regardless of assumed quality that this one, I'm glad to say, has none of.
1.Price: For a true USB 2.0 7-port hub with AC adapter and mounting base, the price was low enough to make me question its quality. I'm glad I took a chance on it.
2.Speed: 2.0 tends to get tossed around a lot especially with a lot of the Chinese junk that even Amazon sells. Nonetheless, this one is the real deal. I can run two external hard drives on it to my MacBook Pro with no difference in speed than if I had them hooked to my computer directly.
3.Build quality: All the ports on this thing hold plugs tightly, to include the AC adapter. It sits quite well when it is placed loose on a desk though due to limited space, I have mine mounted vertically on my desk.
Though I have only had this hub for a month, I have had no issues with it whatsoever despite having all ports used most of the time.

I've just installed this hub and already I'm impressed. Backstory: bought the Belkin 7 port hub, because I thought it looked cool and kind of Apple-y (F5U307-WHT). But from the minute I installed that hub it made a high-pitched whine that drove me nuts. On the Apple website you'll find other, similar complaints about the Belkin. This one is very good looking, tiny (only about 4.5"x 1.25") and, best of all, dead quiet. It seems solid and well made. All seems to be working just fine. Mounted this baby with just a drill. They thought of a pad to increase friction so you can mount in vertically too ^^!!lol. you can slide it out to double-check your connections. It's VERY VERY well designed and crafty. Sturdy Metal. 7 hubs. For $30, this feels like 200% (I could see this selling for $90). Great product! This is the second USB hub I have purchased which stomped all over my operating system and required going back to an old restore point. The system (Dell laptop, < 1yr old) acted erratically after this hub was installed and the registry was probably messed up. The other problem is that by the time you ship this back for a refund, it practically cost what you paid for it. I'm not going to buy another usb hub until some company comes out with a solid product and backs it up with the right guarantee. It may be a long wait.
