Digital camera reviews of Cables To Go 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub

Digital camera Review: Best hub I ever owned!
Summary: 5 Stars

This thing is amazing!
I got it to help with consolidating all my charging cables into one area and it was so useful, that when i told my boss about it, we ordered 10 for out company. we use it all the time now and I couldn't be happier with it.
Super simple to use, never had an issue with it, use it maxed out and still no failure, unlike all the other ones I owned.

GET IT!

Digital camera Review: Best item for the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

Expand your 1x USB hub into 7 - its great for all those accessories! I saw "lesser" units (4 port plastic junk) for way more $$ at local staples. This Al 7-port hub is great for home setups and/or laptop travelers! Pros: Good weight (won't tip and tilt), can install base on your desk at home, and you can still take the port section with you, if you need it traveling. I like it for wireless mouse/keyboard / ipod / camera etc. No need to pay extra $$ to have the extra USB ports installed on the computer directly. Plug-play - it works, no problems! Power cable comes with it, but it will operate off the USB power (ie your computer), so if you're out of power outlets, no problem. USB cable with it is about 24" long.

minor point to be aware of: if you leave this hooked up to a laptop, the blue light might burn down your battery overnight - even if the computer goes into sleep mode....disconnect the USB if you're trying to save battery power! Can you tell i left it connected?! Buy it, you'll be pleased with it!

Digital camera Review: Beware! Lose your wireless mouse and keyboard
Summary: 1 Stars

No sooner had this device been installed to replace a 4-port USB hub than I lost my wireless mouse and keyboard. It's, shall we say, hard to do anything with your computer without one or the other. In the course of trying to get things going again, even after removing the device, the problem lingered. When finally mouse and keyboard were working it turned out the off/on manual closedowns of the computer with the main switch had corrupted Office Outlook 2007 files. It took almost three hours on the phone with HP to get Outlook back. Yes, I sent it back for a refund.

Digital camera Review: Bought 2, 1 DOA other one faded overnight

Get the DLINK 7 Port USB Hub. Much better product. I returned both of these.

Digital camera Review: Buy One, Use One, Keep One
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought one of these in 2007 and I can't say how many times it has saved my butt when I've gotten into a rough patch in a USB jungle! Most recently my Western Digital external USB drive was failing, and it turns out it was getting inconsistent power from my laptop. Go figure. All these years of weirdness with my USB 2.0 devices, and I hadn't confirmed that glitch yet. Long-story-short, I now have the drive plugged into this Powered Hub and I have just stopped worrying about it. Yay! In the past I have used it as a hub for 3-4 external Terabyte drives that I keep around. When it comes to USB backup drives, there is no sense in fooling around with USB-powered devices without *at least* a Y-connector that uses both ports. It has never once failed me. It has a nice bright blue light that lets me know it's on and drawing power (which helps me in case it is time for me to unplug everything as well). The construction is good, but I took points off for the slider-mechanism .. just because I haven't found a use for it, and it causes a little bit too much instability when I have lots of devices attached, or when I put it away. All-in-all I would say just buy one - give your USB 2.0+ devices some clean power - you won't regret it!
