Digital camera Review: Hey, this thing works!
Summary: 5 Stars

It's a cable! It works!

I know, it's difficult to get excited by a cable, but... it's at least exciting to save money, right? And cables don't get a whole lot cheaper than this.

When it comes to cables, I always hit up amazon first, because retail outlets will ALWAYS rip you off, and most other online vendors will charge as much for shipping as for the cable.

Digital camera Review: High Quality - Great Price!

Last year, I purchased an Optical Cable going from my DVD/SACD player to my surround sound system. It was $25, but worked fine. This Toslink Digital Optical Cable seems to do the same job with its high-quality optical fiber, polished lens and gold-plated collet. However, it is under $6.00 and is eight feet long instead of four. I don't know what is happening with digital cables, but I have never seen one of this quality at such a great price. As you may know, signals are transferred via light through one cable instead of using three basic cables (yellow, green, blue) as in years past. This is a great investment for pure sound and clear pictures.

Note: Don't forget to take the clear plastic tips off the cable ends.

Digital camera Review: High-quality cable, great value!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is an 8' long digital audio cable. It's used to connect a DVD or Blu-ray player to a home-theater audio system. It's called an "optical" cable because the high-def sound is carried in digital signal over fiber optic strands inside the cable.

It's difficult for a typical user (like yours truly) to test the various claims the manufacturer makes regarding insulation and "immunity" and such, but suffice it to say it works perfectly and gives clear, static-free audio, as you would expect.

For just a few bucks, this is a terrific deal. Cables-to-Go makes these high-value cables including HDMI cables; I highly recommend their products.

Digital camera Review: Inexpensive quality cable.

If you're looking for an optical digital audio cable, you have a couple of choices. You can buy a cable like this "Cables To Go" cable that costs about $6 and does the job very well. Or, you can spend 5x-20x as much on a cable from a company like "Monster" that claim their HDMI and Toslink cables have magical powers to make your video look better, and your audio sound better. The choice is yours, but there is nothing magical about an overpriced digital cable. They either work, or they don't. I have several devices including my Blu-ray player and internet radio connected to my surround sound system via the "Cables To Go" Toslink cable, and it works 100% fine.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Hard to get excited about the performance of an optical digital audio cable, but when it is so inexpensive on Amazon and gives the same or better quality of the $$$$ ones at the brick & mortar stores, it is something to rave about.

I also like that it is 8ft! Someone actually thought about the fact that I might not have all my components on the same shelf or in the same unit. Bravo for thinking of people with entertainment center piers that need long cables.
