Digital camera Review: If your lucky this will work

The reviews sounded like this product would do exactly what I wanted- connect 2 HDTVs to a single Dish Network DVR and view only ONE tv at a time (one in the living room and one in a bed room). Unfortunately it did work at all since my DVR and HDTVs are never completely off. Since my DVR is always connected to the TV, it wouldn't sever the HDMI connection when one tv was off and allow the other TV to connect to the DVR. So all I got were funny lines with no picture. If my DVR or TVs would shut off completely then it would have worked.
So you might get lucky and this passive splitter will work for you, but if it doesn't work then it's not the fault of the splitter. I can't think of a way to test the compatibility of your TV without buying this unit and trying it, but odds are it will NOT work. Cables Unlimited should provide a list of compatible components and save everybody time and money. I recommend just buying a powered splitter like the IOGear GVS 182.

There are whole load of these Y splitters on Amazon and they don't work on anything that you throw at it and should all be removed. I got one and it does not even power one device let alone two. You would actually be better sticking a lollipop stick in the HDMI slot, it will achieve as much as using these cables that are clearly scam imports dressed up to look like the real deal. I thought that as it was a local trader that it would be okay. But these all seem to be sourced from the kind of Hong Kong-based firms that try to make a fast buck from selling often dodgy stuff. I tested the one I had using a PS3, HD box and a two DVD players with HDMI output together with different TVs and used an array of different HDMI cables to ensure that all bases were covered. None worked in whichever configuration you set them up with. I deal with DVD players with a part-time service I provide and was I admit surprised that such products were on the market because I figured they would need to be powered to get a proper signal. I was right. Really I am amazed that looking on Amazon since I found out how they don't work that there have been so many complaints about the fact these products that don't work, full stop, and yet they continue to be sold. Shame on Amazon because all this is doing is frustrating a flock of people from around the world. There is nothing working about them let alone premium and I suggest Amazon remove these forthwith and let the cheap Hong Kong dealers try and flog them direct.Digital camera Review: Item does not work

Item does not work.
I dead all negative reviews before buying. From those negative reviews I learnt that people expected this cable to deliver HD signals to 2 HD output devices at the same time. The item's description clearly stated that it just SPLITS the original signal and is only able to deliver HD signal to one device at a time (so only one screen e.g. can be ON at one time). I understood this and disagreed with all 150+ or so negative reviewers. I bought three (3) cables. Not one works as I expected the cables are DEFECTIVE. If you connect just ONE device to either one of the outputs (thus connecting the device just in between an existing input and output) the signal does not come thru. I live in Curacao and send stuff I buy from Amazon to my hotel room whilst in the USA, i was thus also unable to return the product. Do NOT make the mistake i made !. This product is DEFECTIVE and does not work under ANY circumstances. Believe me and other 150+ negative reviews.

The splitter can only accept 1 video source at a time so if you need to operate a different hdmi source you have to plug it in and unplug the other. There is almost no use at all for this item.
