Digital camera reviews of Canon 200DG Digital Camera Gadget Bag (Black)Digital camera Review: One roomy, versatile bag Summary: 4 StarsI'm no pro, barely an amateur at photo stuff, but I research pretty tirelessly, and after scouring the market for the past 2 months, I finally settled on the 200DG to hold my growing mass of equipment.
After going to Best Buy and seeing this bag in person, I was totally happy to find it @ Amazon for 2/3 the price. It arrived in a week, and it currently is holding my D60 and all its accoutrements (including a 55-200 lens, filters, cleaners, extra battery, etc.), my small Sony Cybershot, and my new Sony HDR-XR200V complete with all its accessories. The side pockets and front pocket aren't huge, but they're large enough to hold cords/adapters/chargers comfortably.
If I had a gripe with the bag I received (but didn't notice when I first looked at it), it would be the metal buckles that serve to secure the bag closed. They look fine...however, the metal female receptors should be coupled with metal male counterparts. It's weirdness conjoining metal to plastic - it seriously feels like the metal is slowly shaving the plastic away every time I fit them together. I would pay for the matching chrome-look male pieces just to keep balance.
Overall, nice roomy bag that I will keep for awhile... and this coming from a person who believed that slingbag-style bags from Lowepro were the only gear to have.
Digital camera Review: Canon 200DG Digital Camera Gadget Bag Summary: 5 StarsThis is a nice size bag. The quality appears to be good. Lots of room. I don't have enough stuff yet to fill it but I have in it a Canon 40D with a 28-135mm lens attached, a 100-200mm zoom lens and I put my small Kodak digital camera in there also. There is still plenty of room for an external flash and another lens, maybe more. Not to mention the pockets I have put a couple of filters and cables in and still have lots of pocket room left. I have not tried the tripod straps yet. I give it a thumbs up.
One con is that you need to clip it shut before picking it up by the top handle or it will fall open and maybe spill the contents.
Digital camera Review: Good entry level bag Summary: 5 StarsAs I am new to this level of photography I invested in this bag as it had space for my Canon EF-S 18-200 IS lens, 430EX-II Speedlite flash, my Canon XSi mounted with the EF50mm f1.8 lens, and my cables etc. One unique feature is the velcro on the top sides which even if you forgot to close the bag with the latch it wont give way to the contents of the bag. Also I find the bag ok to travel on the plane with. The only draw back is my Slik Pro 700 DX tripod can't attach to it.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Summary: 5 StarsThe quality of this bag is extremely good. Perfect match for my Canon 40D.
Digital camera Review: very spacious! Summary: 5 StarsThis bag holds a lot! I bought for my new DSLR camera and extra lenses, and so that it would allow me to store additional lenses over time, but right now there's way more storage than I have stuff to fill them. I love it! If you're looking for a simple bag to hold your basic SLR, this is probably not what you're looking for. However, if you're looking to add to your lens collection over time, this is the bag for you! Another nice feature is that it holds a tripod too!
