LOVE the hand strap. Makes the camera feel SOOO much more secure in my hand. The only reason I have my neck strap now is to hold my remote trigger release when I'm not using it. There are a few things to know about this hand strap. First, you'll need a camera with an eyelet on the bottom to attach the bottom of this strap to. In the case of a Canon Rebel, this would demand the possession or purchase of an appropriate battery grip. Otherwise, purchasing a third-party hand strap that attaches to where you'd normally screw on a tripod mount would suffice for those without the aforementioned eyelet.
As it is winter as of this writing, I've noticed the hand strap keeps the back of my hand slightly warm when in use. This is merely an observation that doesn't detract from its use, but I am curious to know how comfortable my hand would be when I use this over the summer--though I don't believe it's of any significance to worry about.
Otherwise, this hand strap pretty much does what it was meant for--to be a hand strap--nothing more, nothing less. That is, of course, you find alternate uses for it if you're creative.

This was a pain to install -- and it only "works" with the battery pack attached. This is relatively useless in Portrait view as you have to take your hand out, and move it out of the way before you can use the shutter release on the battery pack in Portrait view. I absolutely love this strap. I hate having things around my neck, especially when it's as heavy as a 50D with a Battery Grip. It feel safe and secure around my hand and when shooting for long periods of time it's incredibly comfortable.
