Digital camera reviews of Canon 2344A001 E1 Hand Strap for Eos Rebel SeriesDigital camera Review: Great stability with Battery grip Summary: 5 Stars
I find added stability with this hand strap both with carrying my 20-D and with shooting. With a 100-400mm lens the camera is heavy and has more extended length than I am comfortable with when carrying the camera around my neck, I can see me in my enthusiasm bumping my lens against something when looking for shots or angles but with the camera attached to my hand, all I need to consider is how close is someone to my right. My neck stap is also attached so if I want I can use it instead. Walking or standing still or taking a shot, the camera simply feels more secure in my hand than around my neck.
Not sure what people want to read with this one so let see if maybe... The straps themselves on this are nylon and adjustable. The piece fitting over the hand is good quality leather and thus, comfortable.
Digital camera Review: Great strap, but....Hello Canon....wheres your brain ??? Summary: 5 Stars
I owned the Canon EOS 1-d, which I sold to obtain the "latest-greatest" EOS 1-d Mark II. My first model(1-d)came with this handstrap, and I found it to be VERY, VERY useful, and incrediby imporant me, being an action-sports photogropher-
Imagine my dismay and anoyance at discovering that this item which was so useful and,(IMHO)absolutely necessary as my wonderful handstrap (WHICH WAS INCLUDED in the previous model)..... had been left out of the "newer and so much improved" version.
I've called and emailed Canon repeatedly(WHICH I STRONGLY SUGGEST ANY/EVERYONE DO)trying to bring attention to this issue, which, to me, is unexpected, and a completly unacceptable discrepancy.
Then consider the 30 plus dollars that Canon is TRYING to charge for it, and well here I go, off to my old fateful Amazon to GET ME ONE !! Actually, its from Adorama, and only about 20 bucks, instead.
As for my review of the strap itself, if you haven't yet gathered; Considering the cameras weight, and me constantly running up and down dirt hills chasing motocross racers and the like, I found it literally, indespensible!
Highly recomended !!

Digital camera Review: Great strap, works well. Highly recommended. Summary: 5 Stars
I received the Canon E1 Hand Strap a few days ago, and I'm very pleased. It is very comfortable, as some have noted, and really assists with holding your camera safely and with less fatigue. I am using mine on a Canon Rebel XSi with the mandatory battery grip.
Attaching the strap is tedious, follow the instructions a kind reviewer loaded (image above) or that are included with your battery grip. Don't tighten the strap too much, you will not be able to adjust controls other than the shutter with your index finger. Your camera will still be stable as it cantilevers from the strap across the back of your hand.
You can attach the neck strap simultaneously, as I did. By doing this you not only have use of the two straps, the neck strap also covers the small black attachment that connects it to the hand strap (so as to minimize any scratches on your camera). If you don't need both, just the hand strap, I would skip the install of this piece. When you look at the install diagram you will see which piece this is.
All in all, I recommend this purchase and rate it 5 stars.

I use this with my Canon 20D with battery grip. I love this strap. You can carry you camera around all afternoon and it takes most of the weight off of your hand.

Alot Better Then Wrapping The Neck Strap Around Your Arm Or Hand...
It Really Depends On What Kind Of Photography You Do. I Shoot At Night Clubs And Weight Can Add Up. I Have A Canon Rebel XT, Hand Grip With 2 Batties, Canon 550EX Flash, And 50mm F/1.4 Or 17-40mm F/2.8
It Feels Alot Better Using The Hand Strap....
