Digital camera Review: ONLY use Canon inks

I received a new Canon EOS Rebel camera for a Christmas gift and after shooting some family shots I printed a few out and the colors were way off. I cleaned the print head and even did a print head alignment to be sure and still the colors were awful. I have a Canon I960 Photo Printer and had never had a problem until now. Then I realized I tried to save a few bucks and purchased "bulk ink" to refill my cartridges. I then ordered the Canon 6-pack set and it arrived today. I then printed a family photo on 4 X 6 Photo paper Plus Glossy with the "bulk ink" first and as expected it was lousy. I then changed out bulk ink with the new Canon cartridges and printed the same photo. Oh man, what a difference. It was back looking like a professional processed photo. I learned my lesson. If printing photos, stay with the Canon inks. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE !!!!! Digital camera Review: These tanks work fine in my i9100

I have a Canon i9100 wide-format printer. I've tried several after-market ink tanks that are supposed to fit this printer but non have worked- they don't fit in the ink carriage. So I'm stuck with using the Canon brand. Amazon's price for the BCI-6 6-pack is about the cheapest I've found for the branded stuff. Since these are ink tanks and not cartridges they are not recyclable as credits for new tanks. Also, this printer/tank combination goes through ink like crazy, way more is used than my old HP used. Another problem, and part of the reason it goes through so much ink, is that the print heads get clogged up very easily. If I'm not printing every day, the heads get plugged and I have to use the print-head cleaning utility, which wastes a tremendous amount of ink. I'm not sure how much of the problem is due to the ink versus how much is due to the print head design. Again, I never had this problem with my old HP. If I can ever afford to buy another printer it will probably not be a Canon.Digital camera Review: Canon BCI-6 ink cartridge
