Digital camera reviews of Canon BCI-6PM Photo Magenta Ink Tank

Digital camera Review: Great price for orignal ink
Summary: 5 Stars

This was the lowest price I could find for original ink.

Digital camera Review: Lasts a lot longer than you think... and OEM ink is definitely the best
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned 4 Canon inkjet printers, and have a lot of experience with the individual ink tank system Canon uses. I can say with confidence that the BCI-6 and BCI-3 series ink tanks can print quite a bit longer than the software tells you they can. Once all the ink in the reserve tank (not in the sponge) is used up a sensor sends an "Ink Low" message to the software, which then starts counting pages. Whether or not you actually use that color much for the next X number of pages you will still get an "Out of ink" error and a warning that you could damage your printer if you continue to print. Take the ink tank out and visually inspect it. In most cases you can just hit the "Continue" button (or its equivalent on your printer model) and print several more pages (depending on size and whether you're printing photos or on plain paper). Just be sure to visually inspect the tank every few pages because you don't want it to run completely dry, that could indeed damage your print head.

I have been using a Canon i9900 for over 2 years and printed hundreds of photos and 11x17 high-resolution pages, and have never had the print head clog using Canon ink. It's definitely worth it to buy your printer manufacturer's ink, whether you use a Canon, HP, Lexmark, Epson...

Digital camera Review: Original ink woks better
Summary: 5 Stars

I own the Canon i960. I went on to buying the aftermarket ink...what a big mistake. The printing head burnt out after 7months. I found out on my own that the after market ink does not feed ink that well like it should. Hey, you really can't go wrong with Amazon's price on original Canon ink.

Digital camera Review: Shame on Amazon!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had Canon printers for 10 years now, and have always been impressed. Currently I have the i9900. When paired with this ink, it gives fantastic results!

Buy the ink elsewhere though. Amazon does not do free shipping for this item. The ink is just over eight bucks, but shipping is seven and a half - EACH!!!

Digital camera Review: Stick with Canon Inks
Summary: 5 Stars

I currently have a Canon i960, but I've learned over the years never substitute generic inks no matter what the advertisement says. Only Canon inks give me the quality I want and don't ruin the printer. I do a lot of color prints to use as references in my art work, and contrary to what others may say, the inks last a long time and are well worth the expense for me.
