This is an excellent battery with good overall charge, it is much better than the standard battery the canon camcorder comes with. I would definately recommend this battery to anyone, also I did not go for the larger 800 series battery because I did not want it to stick out too much from the camcorder. I tried to get around this purchase, but I am glad I made it. The standard product that came with my M30 lasted only 60 minutes. This battery gave me almost 3 hours of record time. On vacation I needed it. Some folk get more time in their units, so don't base your purchase on other reviews unless they have YOUR camcorder.Digital camera Review: Expensive but what other choices do you have

Like the title said, EXPENSIVE! The battery probably cost $10 to make and they're charging $50 for it. I did not really have a choice in the matter as the alternative, generic battery, might cause certain problems for the Vixia HF S100 camera. So better to go with the OEM.
