Digital camera reviews of Canon BP-819 Lithium Ion Battery Pack for HF10, HF100 HF S & HF M Camcorders (Retail Packaging)

Digital camera Review: Great
Summary: 5 Stars

I hate to not give a detailed review on this, but there isn't much to say. So far it works great in my Canon. It is pricey though.

Digital camera Review: Great Purchase for my HF11!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Canon BP-819 Lithium Ion Battery Pack for HF10 and HF100 Camcorders
Made the purchase when I bought my Canon HF11 after hearing how horrible the stock battery was. I could not be happier with my purchase. This high capacity battery gives me 2+ hours of record time. More than enough for mutliple days or games (soccer for the kids!).

If you have a HF10/100/11 and are still using the stock battery and hating it, buy this battery and use your stocker for a back up. You won't be sorry!

Digital camera Review: Great battery
Summary: 5 Stars

It's a little big but it sure came in handy when I was on vacation and my standard battery died. Great bargain!

Digital camera Review: Great battery but Manfrotto Modostready Owners Watch Out!
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been using this battery with my Canon HF S10 for about 2 months. I regularly get over 3 hours of filming out of it. It's only slightly larger than the battery the camera comes with and adds very little additional weight to the camera.

That said. It does add a small bit of additional weight over the original battery and does so in a way that I have yet to be able to compensate for with my Manfrotto Modosteady. No matter how carefully I calibrate the modo steady with this battery in it seems to put an odd amount of weight to the Back-Left of the camera causing the stabilizer to jitter during pans and during otherwise steady and motionless shots the camera creeps slowly up and off to the left, every time.

I pop the default battery back in and recalibrate and all these issues go away and I get buttery smooth pans and rock solid stabilization.

If you don't have a modo steady it's a great battery.

If you do have a modo steady don't plan to use this and your modo steady in stabilizer mode at the same time. I'm sure with a quick trip to home depot one could find something to superglue to the underside of the battery to even out the weight distribution.

If I ever get around to doing this I'll post a howto on youtube.

Digital camera Review: Great battery even if pricey.
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this for the Canon Vixia HG 20. Since the battery that comes with that camera lasts only about an hour this is essential for long video shoots. I get about 3 hours of time. It's a bit larger than the regular battery but it's not cumbersome. Works just like the regular battery too. The only drawback is it's expensive.
