Digital camera reviews of Canon BP511A 1390mAh Lithium Ion Battery Pack for Select Digital Cameras and Camcorders (Retail Package)

Digital camera Review: Canon Battery BP511A
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow, I'd come to Fry's and got to know that they sell this single battery for $70.00 while you can buy here a pair of it for the same price and point is that they're both Canon product and work like a champ. Go for it guys.

Digital camera Review: Canon Battery from Amazon.com
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought a cheaper version a few months ago from NWV Direct - not worth the money. Low capacity and wore out after a few uses.

The battery purchased directly from Amazon cost more - but performs better than the original equipment. Great quality and still cheaper than buying direct from Canon.

Digital camera Review: Canon EOS D60 Battery
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought a couple of these batteries to replace my original Canon batteries which were all suffering from a pretty serious memory effect. These batteries work fine. They are slightly smaller than my old ones, but fit in my D60 just as well. They seem to be slightly faster at recycling the flash than my old batteries, but then again my batteries were OLD. I am happy with my purchase although I am always a little bit annoyed by the price of genuine Canon parts.

Digital camera Review: Canon batteries
Summary: 5 Stars

I do not trust any batteries except Canon for my Canon cameras.
I have found "compatible" batteries do not always charge in
Canon charger, and do not last as long on camera.

Digital camera Review: Canon batteries sold by Vortex Cable appear to be counterfeit.
Summary: 1 Stars

As mentioned by others, Vortex Cable seems to be selling counterfeit Canon batteries. The packaging is very convincing, almost the same as Canon's, but not quite. I ordered two batteries from Amazon (Vortex Cable) and two batteries from Adorama (after reading the most recent reviews of this item). The holographic label on Canon's package is completely different. The Vortex batteries fell out of the package, Canon's package must be torn apart to get to the batteries. The labels are slightly different. The Vortex batteries are shinier and darker, the cover does not stay on the Vortex batteries.

Buyer beware!!!!

Go to BH Photo Video or Adorama to be sure you're getting the real deal. Had I not read carefully and ordered additional batteries from Adorama for comparison, I would have not realized I paid full price for counterfeit junk.

Update; Vortex Cable was kind enough to refund the entire purchase price plus shipping.
