Digital camera reviews of Canon Deluxe Gadget Bag 100EGDigital camera Review: Beware of the advertised size! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought the 100EG for my Canon EOS-10D with a Canon 28-135mm IS lens and a Canon 420EX flash. My camera with the lens attached BARELY fits in the bag, and only after all the dividers are removed. A longer zoom wouldn't have fitted, period. Very dissapointed with the "1-2 camera bodies, 3-4 lensees, "AND" accessories" claim. Sure, if you own toy cameras. What's the point of removing the dividers? As far my setup, this bag is only good for 1 body and 1 small/medium lens, NOTHING else (as far as camera components), not even my Canon 420EX flash. Also, the waist strap is annoying since it pretty much useless and CAN'T be removed. I do, however, like the build quality and looks. I am going to gamble on the 10EG and HOPE to get ONE camera body, TWO lenses, and ONE flash in it. You'd think Canon would know how many of their OWN components could fit in their own bag!!! It's too bad Canon doesn't post more views of this bag with an example camera and lenses inside.
Digital camera Review: Bigger Than It Looks Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this (elsewhere for more $) for my Canon T1i and its kit lens. I now have the DSLR w/lens, a Canon G10, a small flash, spare batteries and chargers for each, and memory cards, and there is easily room for another lens.
Don't be swayed to a too-big bag by the naysayers. :)
Digital camera Review: Camera Bag Summary: 5 Stars
The Canon Deluxe Gadget Bag 100EG was perfect for my use. In the main storage section I have a S1is Canon backup camera, S5is Canon main use camera, auxilary HF-DC1 flash and all camera/flash manuals: two velcro attaching pads are provided to make storage compartments.
In an external zippered section I carry my AA battery charger, len's cleaning papers, ball point, 3 x 5 cards, small flashlight and a lens adapter. This section has a zipper section and elastic loop holders (film cans?).
The bag cover has a zippered section in which I keep a small leather case with my memory cards.
For the battery packs, I took a 16" length of small diameter rope and tied it as a loop thru one of the outside strap fittings. The loop dangles on the outside at one end of the bag. Spare battery pack holders (each holds four AA) made of soft nylon have a velcro closing flap. To close the pack holder, I fold the velco flap cover around the rope. This way I can carry four spare battery packs that are easily assessible without opening the bag. Batteries positive (+) end up in the pack if charged, (+) down when discharged.
The bag cover has a large metal ring that snaps to a large swivel snap on the bag lower section. These parts being quite large make it easy to open/close. However, I disabled the swivel function by putting tape around it. Reason for this, many times the snap opening was swiveled in the wrong direction when trying to close the bag cover.
Transporting the bag is done by a handle or a shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is padded and adjustable. There is a waist belt strap cleverly stored so as not to be obtrusive when not in use, however, the bag seems a little large to attach by a waist belt. I may convert this area into carrying a monopod.
I thought the bag workmanship and materials used were very good. I would highly recommend this bag. I paid $28 for the bag.
Digital camera Review: Canon 100EG Bag Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great bag for a Canon S5 IS or one of its brethren. You can easily fit it with a Lensmate adapter and a couple of other adapters. Also holds other accessories. It offers the ability to carry it by a handle, shoulder strap, or a cleverly executed fanny pack. Construction is good, with heavy duty zippers. If you are getting it for a DSLR, you may be disappointed. It is too small to carry one unless it just has one small lens attached. You would do well to look to a larger bag. To carry a camera like the S5 and all its gear, you can't go wrong, though. The only thing that would improve it is a couple of compartments on the side of the bag.
Digital camera Review: Canon Camera bat Summary: 5 Stars
Camera bag is nice and durable. Our Canon Ti1 fits snugly with two lenses (base plus telephoto) and a few small items (extra cards, cords, cleaning cloths and camera strap.) We recently found out that it is not waterproof. There is a lot of insulation, so the camera didn't get wet (even in a pretty steady downpour.) We'll be spraying it with scotchguard before our next big trip, though, so as not to have to deal with a damp bag. Got a great price on Amazon- the price at Target was about $20 more.
