I bought this lens to photograph urban wildlife. Reviews of a competitive lens on another online store indicated slow Automatic Focus, AF, so I looked at Canon. For a modestly higher price this lens had better reviews.
Then I looked on Amazon and was surprised the Canon lens cost less on Amazon than the lenses on the competing site. Delivery was competitive and faster. I got next day delivery at regular rates, due to my location relative the shipper. I recommend checking that before paying for 'fast' service. It's pretty easy to do on the UPS and FedEx websites.
I like the lens. Pictures are sharp, it's easy to use. I find the AF not as useful as hoped and tend to mostly use Manual Focus. It is easy to switch from AF to MF and back again. The lens is not too heavy in my opinion, but I am not hiking around with it either.

I am ajusting and learning how to use this lens and where to use it. For example I wish I would have known to purchase a flash with this lens especially for night time use! This is my inexperience. Because of my inexperience I can not rate this lens appropriately at this time. This lens was purchased for use with a Rebel and has been excellent. It was ready to use the minute it was taken out of the box. Quality in both low light and normal light has been excellent. It is lightweight thus carrying an extra lens is not an issue. These lens are much smaller in size than the Nikon lens I use for my Nikon cameras.Digital camera Review: Canon Lens

I am not happy with this product because one of the contacts on the lens will work for a few minutes then I keep getting ERR 99.I have tried to contact CPHORSE several times with no reply.It seems like this is common with this seller.He doesnt't want to have any returns.I now have to send the lens to Canon Tech Center to get fixed, which i am very unhappy about.
