Digital camera reviews of Canon PIXMA iP3000 Photo PrinterDigital camera Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
Bought it to be a printer for documents and such, that said I was amazed at its photo quality printing.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic Upgrade to the i550 Summary: 5 Stars
After two years with the Canon i550, the Pixma 3000 is a significant upgrade and a great little printer.
Best Features:
- Superior Photo Quality (4 ink tanks but very, very good print quality). Good looking prints even on generic/non-Canon paper.
- Separate paper cassette like most laser printers. Don't underestimate the convenience of this. I can now load photo paper underneath in the cassette and regular paper in the top. The driver lets me setup a profile for borderless photo printing and it automatically takes the paper from the cartridge
- Duplex unit. This works great, printing on both sides of the paper without requiring you to turn the paper around. Very slick.
So far, no significant downsides. Only shortfall may be the inability to print directly to CD's. I'll wait and see how much the print nozzles get clogged (finally killed my i550).
Digital camera Review: Fantastic print quality Summary: 5 Stars
I wasn't aware that Canon even made bubblejet printers any longer until I was researching a new printer for my computer. I was in desperate need of replacing a defunct Epson 740i, when I happened upon the PIXMA iP3000. I have been continually impressed with this printer's ability to print clean text documents and quickly spit out accurately color-matched photos. The price is unbeatable for the quality of the machine. In addition, the printer folds up into an inobtrusive little gray box when it's not in use, and looks at home on any desk. It has worked flawlessly with my Apple, which is running Macintosh OS 10.3. The various ports make it accessible to print from other sources (digital camera, etc.). I paid considerably more for my old Epson, but I have never been as satisfied with a printer before I purchased this one, which is a considerable value.
Digital camera Review: Fantastic printer!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought a HP printer and read reviews on this one that same day. I took the HP back since the reviews were all positive for this PIXMA. I am SO glad I did. Easy to set up and install. The first picture I printed amazed me and my son. His reaction was WOW!!!! My reaction as well. I read a few reviews about how big this printer is but I tell you what...I love the way it looks. It's big but not fragile like so many others i've seen and used. Sleek, bold and beautiful. Two paper tray system is wonderful. Use the bottom tray for photo paper and feed tray for document printing. The color is so rich and the software is just as good. I will try with Paint Shop Pro to judge any differences but what I've seen.........AWESOME!! You can't beat the price, performance, individual ink cartridges and duplex printing. Canon wins again with me. I have a Canon scanner that works great too. Don't pass up this deal. My photos look better than the pics printed from the shop. Pictures from this PIXMA look better than my sisters 150.00 HP printer. You won't be disspointed!!!!
Digital camera Review: Fine Printer When New but WILL NOT LAST! Summary: 1 Stars
I should have learned my lesson with my first Canon printer. Unfortunately I replaced it with this ip3000 model. It will not last! The paper feed mechanism will soon go bad. Mine fed paper in at an angle, grabbing it on the right side and ripping it apart. After too many hours of research and dickering, I simple annihilated it into with the largest hammer I have! I must have thrown over fifty pieces into the garbage. The problems with this printer are well documented on the internet despite positive feedback here on Amazon. I will NEVER buy another Canon product again. NEVER!!!
