Digital camera reviews of Canon PIXMA iP3000 Photo Printer

Digital camera Review: GOOD PRINTER FROM CANON
Summary: 5 Stars

Have had this printer for a year or so now. It is very good, the cartridges are very easy to refill. Has individual color ink tanks unlike HP printers. So it is very easy to work with. Makes nice color pictures and good B&W printing, fast. I would recommend it.

Digital camera Review: Good for home use
Summary: 5 Stars

I just bought a Canon camera so I picked up this printer as Canon has a $70 rebate on it. Net cost to me will end up being $20 so I have to say this is a great value. All I have to do is plug in my Canon camera directly into the printer (may not work like this for all other camera brands), format the picture directly on my Camera and hit the print button, and out comes the photo...Nice!! I was tired of developing roll after roll for $$$ so I went with this new set-up and now only print the pictures I need and store the rest on my PC. The print quality is good when you print on photo paper.

Please note that as an added bonus, this is also a regular printer for your normal home or home office print jobs. For the price it is 5 Stars

Digital camera Review: Good printer, especially for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this printer as an upgrade to my dinosaur HP Inkjet (it had to have been over 10 years old), and must say I'm very pleased so far. However, before I go any further, you should know that the printer does NOT ship with a USB cable to connect it to your computer. This is kind of disappointing, considering you'll have to spend another $20 just to hook it up to your computer. Aside from that, I am satisfied!

The first thing one is likely to notice is the design, which is sleek, simple, and well thought out. The front has two buttons, one of which will cancel a print job in progress. The other button changes the paper feed tray, of which there are two. There is also a port on the front that allows PictBridge enabled cameras to connect and print without the need of an intervening computer.

For its price, this printer is packed with a plethora of useful features. One feature that was intrigueing was automatic on and off-- the printer turns on when you need it, and off when not in use. This option needs to be configured via the Control Panel. Another useful feature is automatic duplexing. In other words, the iP3000 can print two-sided pages without human intervention. How cool is that!

Print quality and speed on this model continue to leave me grinning. The test page was printed in a matter of seconds, and a test 4x6 print came out relatively fast (Canon's claim of 36 seconds per print seems correct). Text is crisp, and colors are fairly accurate. The test 4x6 print was a little darker than the same one when it was printed at Kinko's, but they also have something like 8 different ink colors (versus the iP3000's 4), so that's to be expected!

Anyways, to cut a long story short, this printer is an amazing value at just under $100.

Digital camera Review: Goodbye Epson Hello Canon
Summary: 5 Stars

My Epson C44 died after 14 months light use.Got the Canon ip3000.Looks great, sounds great, prints clear and fast. The difference is amazing and it's well built and cheap.Sensibly they have avoided the all in one colour cartridges and those wretched chips .Get one now and enjoy decent prints<sorry Epson>

Digital camera Review: Great Buy in the price range
Summary: 5 Stars

the printer is great for the price. Set up was easy. Fast text printing and relatively fast for photos. Not a heavy printer user but I wanted good quality prints and bigger ink tanks. I uninstalled the software, as it was not that useful. It over crops on borderless and border prints for me. Got a great deal at Staples for $79.99. Target sells IP2000 for $79 with the two little ink containers that run out too soon (had S200 Canon with them before). Use the Canon Photo paper for best photo results. I don't have a Picbridge camera so can't comment on that feature.
