Prior to purchasing the Pixma ip6700 I read some reviews that complained about the print quality for text --- I've found no issues whatsoever with the quality of documents I've printed. Text is clear and sharp.
Photo quality is outstanding. Speed is better than the last printer I had, but to be honest speed is not a huge factor for me --- I kinda press the PRINT button and then go about doing other things.
Though it doesn't come with any Built-in networking features, I overcame this by connecting it to a wireless router/printserver (USR5461-- also purchased from Amazon -- $50 Great Bargin!!!)and I'm able to access it from anywhere in my home.
I've been using this thing for the last month and would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a photo printer that handles text as well as it handles graphics.

Ease of setup is Canons plus. The photo quality is exceptional and not just for the price.
As with all bubble jets the cost of ink is way out of line. You could almost replace the printer for the cost of a set of cartridges. That's way too high.

A great printer, compact, speedy, versatile (lots of paper types, for example). I don't use the card reader or editing screen, but even then it is still a bargain. Plus the card readers can be used as an external reader for your PC. Color is excellent (as with all Canons in my experience) and prints are sharp and clear.
As others have pointed out, not the best for black text (not as good as my previous Canon, the i960). A little rough around the edges. I'd say it was a better photo printer than a general office printer.
This printer is connected to a PC. I would have liked to be able to print on the network from my Mac, but as far as I know, Canon does not support that (it does support direct printing from the Mac and network printing from a PC).
