I am extremely impressed with the Pixma iP6700D Photo Printer by Canon. This printer is loaded with useful features and creates beautiful prints. I was surprised at how quiet it is while in operation. The ability to print front and back in a single operation is impressive. If I were to make a suggestion for how the printer could be improved, it would be that the printer needs an upper left hand guide in the Sheet feeder to help hold the paper straight. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with my previous color/photo printer. Whenever I wanted to print some pictures, the ink jets always seemed to need cleaning, the ink was low in one or more of the three tanks, and the colors never seemed to match what I anticpated.
The last time this happened I decided to replace it. So I packed up the old printer, did some Internet research, and landed on the Canon PIXMA iP6700D photo printer.
I couldn't be happier, either with the printer or with Amazon for their excellent price, free shipping, and quick shipping too. The setup was a breeze, everything worked perfectly right out of the box, all my prints are coming out quickly and beautifully, and it is quiet. I love the fact that it has 6 separate ink tanks, so if one color runs out (black and red always seem to be used up first) I don't have to buy the whole lot of them.
I imagine that a Photo expert might be able to see some photographic flaws with the prints. But I can't. They look great! For this consumer/photo hobbyist, the Canon iP6700D is perfect.

Have always bought Epson printers in the past . This is my first Canon printer and I am delighted with it. So far have not had any need to clean the print head which was a frequent problem with Epson. The printer is very quiet, it is fast and the print and photo quality is excellent. Had not expectd to get a unit this good for so little money.

We were printing a backlog of photos in minutes and the first impressions were very good. The photos look flawless and so long as our software and print settings are set up right, the photos are very accurate.
I've not done prints from the printer's built-in control - I prefer to use the PC to manage, modify and print. I would rather that Canon shaved a few bucks off the cost of the printer and left this feature off, but I suspect that others may find it useful.
The USB is fast and the printer's footprint on my desk is not too bad.
Ink usage seems to be very reasonable. Canon's use of separate ink tanks for colors is very smart. It feels like we have a little photo lab right in our house. I would certainly recommend or buy another, given the need.
