Digital camera reviews of Canon PIXMA iP6700D Photo Printer (1441B002)

Digital camera Review: Excellent printer, but not super speedy
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to replace a Canon i560 that I've had for 3 years. Canons have been much more reliable for me than Epsons that I've had, to the extent I'm soured on Epson printers (though I have a flatbed Epson scanner that I'm pleased with). I use Macintosh computers and Canon printers work seamlessly with Macs.

Color is great. Despite some things I've read, I've found the text printing very good to excellent. Really like having 2 options for paper loading. Printing software is excellent (on the Mac). Only thing that stopped my giving it 5 stars is that the printer could be faster on text.

Great price for a very fine printer.

Digital camera Review: Excellent, So Far
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this printer for about a month now and here is my opinion about it:

I consider myself an advanced amateur in photography. Looking for a printer to buy, I had only one goal in mind- printing quality. I did not care about speed, final cost of the prints, nor any of additional features that come with today's models, but only the final output. This model met my expectations.

The PIXMA IP 6700D is fast, quiet, nicely designed and it produces excellent photographs with no graininess at all. I tested it on over fifty prints so far using the best Canon photo paper available and appropriate color profiles. Comparing those I made with the photos created in a professional photo lab, I found my pictures brighter, sharper and more vivid, although the cost of the prints from Canon went higher than those printed in lab. I did not have any problems installing the printer and so far it's been working flawlessly. The only thing I noticed is what someone already mentioned- colors look slightly washed out, but I find it quite acceptable. Having no other complaints and considering relatively low cost of this model, I have no choice but to give this printer five stars.

Digital camera Review: FAST AND FINE!
Summary: 5 Stars

For the price, you can't find a better quality printer than this one. Easy to use, easy to load, easy to change settings, easy to be satisfied with your purchase. Highly recommended. I have had excellent results both for photograph printing (large size, excellent resolution) and regular page printing.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic Printer
Summary: 5 Stars

I had an ancient HP ink jet that was bigger and made more noise for less quality printouts. I have not printed any photos yet, but regular paper looks as good as prints I've seen from other printers. I did some color address labels through it and everything came out crisp, clean and straight. I'm not easily impressed but this printer is worth every penny. It does not 'grab' the paper - it just feeds it in nice a smooth - even better than my laser printer at work. You have to look very closely to be able to tell the difference between the laser and this ink jet black and white printouts.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic quality
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros: I own this printer and an hp8750d. You cannot get a better 8.5x11 printer than this canon. Period. Im constantly amazed at the speed and quality of the prints. It handles non canon paper fine. Even used some "Post-it" photo paper (yup you peel off the pic) i got for .50 a pack on clearance and it even printed very nicely on that. I've also used Kodak paper and i frankly cant see spending the $$$ on canon paper except for those pictures you want to be Perfect. (Note: i have some $25 a pack canon pro paper and havent bothered opening it). It handles Epson paper very well also. If you arent going wide carriage this is the last photo prnter you'll ever need. If you are check out the 8750. The epsons might compete with it (the canon has higher potential resolution) but they're well known for head cloggng and that is an Expensive flaw.

Cons: Not a pigment ink printer. Though that probably doesnt matter to people buying in this range. And of course when you start running out of ink it is going to be painful to the pocket book ($15 x 6). There should however be some quality CIS systems coming out for this printer soon.
