I did not like this case at all and ended up returning it.
I had hoped it was similar the soft leather case I already had for my APS ELPH2 that Canon used to include for free with the pre-digital ELPH's. I'd use that one but that camera was a bit bigger and I like a nice snug fit so the camera is a small as possibly in my pocket. The Amazon product description said it was supposed to be a soft leather case but it really is more of a hard one, with some sort of fiberboard or plastic sandwiched between the external leathers and the man-made lining materials.
Size was an issue too. Though it was a perfect fit for the camera, because of the way it was stitched on the outside (because it was a hard case that could not be reversed), it made the camera much bigger and less comfortable in my pocket. Plus, because the sides don't come up all the way, it left parts of the camera exposed and unprotected from my keys or change or whatever.
The plusses were that it was otherwise well made even though it came from China and not Japan like the other Canon Genuine items. So, if you don't mind the extra size, I say go for it. If not, get a Case Logic neoprene case like I have instead. Better protection and less added size and I think Amazon carries them too.

It seems to be a good product. The only thing I would change is the strength of the magnet. At first it did not want to stay latched but seems to have no problem doing so now that it is broken in. The leather case needed to be modified a little as other people have noted. The hole in the top for the strap is too small and needed to be reemed out a little. I bought this for my new Cannon camera, and though it fits the camera and has a belt loop, I ended up unhappy because it is so big. The whole point of small cameras is that they fit in a pocket, and this case doubled the size of my camera. I ended up emptying a box of crayons and keeping the camera in the crayon box.
