Very sturdy and protective case for the Canon SD1000 camera. Has magnetic latch so it is easy to get the camera out when needed for a quick shot. Only complaint is that the camera strap gets stuck in the cut-out in the top of the case. The slot just needs to be a little larger. The case by itself is well made and sturdy. Unfortunately, the slot for the strap IS very narrow and does not accommodate a quick draw camera pull, it catches on the plastic tab. I prefer to not use a camera case with the strap stuck under the flap so pulling it through the hole is a personal preference. I cut it open further but other problem arose. The compartment is very snug (hopefully it will get a bit looser) and catches on the zoom button. The fluffy pillow at the bottom stops the front flap from closing completely (not enough for the camera to fall out, but irritating nonetheless). It's been in this case for about a week, and has no signs of stretching. When the front flap is closed completely, it is flush to the bottom with no lip to flip open with. I realize that the case isn't "officially" the 1400IS case but it did come up compatible and this review is for people that would like to use this with their new camera. Considering the price, I think you should know it might not as fit as nicely as you want if you have the 1400IS.
