This case is a good economic lifesaver for your cannon Powershot. It has a belt loop and a pocket for extra batteries, extra memory, or whatever. The velcro is strong. We typically carry the camera by it's tether, which we hang out of the flap. It hasn't popped open, even carrying a bunch of batteries.
