Digital camera reviews of Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo PrinterDigital camera Review: Good MFC device for the price Summary: 4 StarsI have had the Canon MP530 now for 2 years and it still works well. The only thing I don't like about is that is goes through ink cartridges very fast. I have worked around this by printing in lower quality when I can. One time the MPC530 was giving me an ink low alarm for the magenta ink cartridge even though the cartridge was full. I replaced the cartridge and it now works fine so it was probably a problem with the cartridge, annoying but problem solved. The scanning and faxing options work very well. The device is easy to use and easy to set up.
Digital camera Review: Great Printer, but bigger than I expected Summary: 4 StarsI have been using this printer/all in one for about two months now and it is great. It prints, copies, and scans with great precision. I was suprised when I got it at how big it was, but it does not really bother me now. If you are looking for a compact all in one, this is not for you. I have it sitting on a file cabinet and it hangs over the sides.
Digital camera Review: And then it stopped printing (operator error) Summary: 3 StarsThis unit was delivered September 12, 2008. It is March 9th, 2009 and the printer has stopped printing. I cleaned, deep cleaned and aligned heads and nothing. CS had me do the same thing when after two calls I got through. They could not figure out the problem so are going to send me a new ink tank that would take a week. Up until today I was generally satisfied with this multi printer except for the units excessive need for ink. Since time was critical I pulled off the ink tank and cleaned it and still no go. When I was putting the ink cartridges back in I saw that I had left on the yellow tape that covers the prime hole on the top of the black cartridge. Once I took that off the printer starting working fine.
Digital camera Review: Not Working Yet Summary: 2 StarsThis product has yet to work properly. When it arrived, one of the color cartridges had a broken tab. The LCD was set in German. It failed immediately with a flashing alarm light and a "check printer" on the LCD. Canon support shipped me a replacement promptly. I bought a cartridge locally to replace the one with a broken tab. The replacement printer scanner fax worked very well for one week. One morning I turned it on and the alarm light was flashing and the "check printer" message was on the LCD. I contacted Canon support and they thought a full printer cartridge replacement might fix the problem. That didn't fix the problem, so they are sending me a second replacement. Canon support has been outstanding. I think I am just a victim of bad luck. I'm waiting for the second replacement to arrive this week.
It is now April 9. The second replacement arrived. I have been using the printer and scanner now for one month and am satisfied with the quality of the color and clarity of the pictures printed by this machine. Hats off to Canon Support!
Digital camera Review: Had two- both broke. Summary: 1 StarsThis printer is terrible! The first one I bought showed an error message that was not only incorrect (it said there was a missing ink cartridge when all were properly installed) but could not be cleared. Canon had me send it to them and in return they sent me a refurbished unit. The refurbished unit does not scan properly. The scanner gets "stuck" after about 2/3 of the page and the unit must be turned off and turned back on to resume printing. The result is a copy (or scan) that is muddled and blurry on one side.
The really terrible thing about the "new" unit is the noise it makes when the cartridges return to the original position after printing. It sound like the buzzing of a child's wind-up toy, only 100 times louder, and lasts 15 seconds. I cannot make a phone call or carry on a conversation while printing for this reason.
The only good point: it did print well for about a week before breaking!
