This printer was easy to set up and use. I've not had it long enough to evaluate ink use yet. It produces nice pictures and text. It was, however, a little larger than I expected although I'd have to admit that I didn't really pay attention to it's dimensions. Just make sure you have a fairly large spot to place it. Overall we like it very much. We especially like being able to just insert an SD card and print pictures straight from it vs. connecting to the PC and using the print software.Digital camera Review: Canon Pixma 610

Printing --good, picture reproduction--not nearly as good as my Canon mf80.
All other aspects were fine including Amazon's closeout price with free delivery on time.

I needed a printer that would provide high quality black and white text as well as an occasional true color printout for reviewing graphic designs. Economy for ink usage is important as some printers seem to drink ink like water, and I also needed the capacity for scanning and printing color photos. The MP 610 printer allows replacement for individual color cartridges, uses ink judiciously, prints pages with crisp text and provides true color copies. As a home user, I'm entirely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend the printer for its quality and versatility. Great printer! This is the best printer I have owned. It's fast and the picture quality is wonderful. The size of the printer is bigger then I thought it would be, but I don't mind. I use it mainly for printing photos and I haven't been disappointed yet. I have notoiced that the quality of the photos turn out better if you use the Easy Print EX software that comes with the Canon printer. I have both Kodax Easy Share and Olympus photo software on my computer. You can print from these programs, but I have found that the picture quality isn't near as good if you do. I also like the individual ink cartridges. When one color runs out you only have to replace the color you need instead of buying a new tri color cartridge.
