Digital camera reviews of Canon Pixma MP610 Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer (2180B002)Digital camera Review: Best InkJet Printer that was ever made! Summary: 5 Stars
Finally was able to find a color inkjet that prints true colors. For years my 'hp Photosmart 7150' gave me brown or pink/purple when I requested yellow. Pink when I wanted red. Started believing yellow was a shade of purple. Thrilled to be rid of those three color cartridges which always ran out of yellow first. Then you have a cartridge that still had plenty of the other colors but forget - yellow. Made a DVD label for Resurrection Sunday and wanted the background to be a bright rising sun! I had the prettiest pink and purple sun you've ever seen. If you are still using the three color hp cartridges, break free and witness true colors again!
This printer is fast. I also have a hplaserJet 4200 and this little inkjet prints as quick and clear as my laserJet. I also like the idea of processing photos without using my computer. What more can I say...When my laser gets old you can bet I'll be looking at Canon for updating my laser printer.
Good going Canon! Keep up the quality products and if your not No. 1 now, it won't be long.
Digital camera Review: Best deal (only photographers need ponder) Summary: 5 Stars
The MP610 has been phased out by Canon in favor of the MP620, but Amazon still carries the old model--and at a hefty price reduction. The question: should you adopt a new-is-better stance? Answer: hardly. Consider the following:
The MP610 is an extremely versatile yet powerful machine. It proved itself for me in each of its functions long before the most popular consumer magazine listed it as #1 in its ratings.
The 610 has served me most handily as a stand-alone copier, performing better than the dedicated copy machine I formerly used for printing out music.
If you plan to use the 610 as your main printer, rest assured that once you've tried the auto duplex feature, you won't settle for a printer without it. The MP620 does not have duplex printing (unless you manually flip each page to the other side).
The MP620 is an "upgrade" (perhaps) aimed exclusively at photographers. It adds another ink cartridge, provides enhanced "autofix" for those who touch-up their photos at the printer, and has slightly reduced warm-up time for the first print-out. It also, at this point, costs considerably more than the MP610. Don't expect the 610 to be available much longer at this price.
Digital camera Review: Best deal out there Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to replace a five year old Epson. This is my first canon and my first all in one. The quick setup instructions were easy to follow and no problems installing on vista x64. I've already printed about ten 4x6 (photos) and forty 8.5x11 (black text) on the highest quality setting and it still says that I have full tanks. The scans take really long on its highest setting and a full 8.5x11 scan takes about 410mb but the quality is great. The copy and print speeds are great. Overall a great printer that hasn't let me down and exceed my expectations.
Digital camera Review: Best printer I have ever had Summary: 5 Stars
I usually just go buy a printer for a few bucks and throw the old one away. It's been cheaper to do that than purchase new ink. But with this printer, I am not throwing it away. It's the best printer I have ever had.
