Digital camera Review: Attractive, Space-Saving Device for a Small Office
Summary: 4 Stars

The Canon PIXMA MX310 is designed to be used by one or two people in a small office that requires only a few small print/copy/scan/fax jobs per day. In that realm, it performs very well. Having print, scan, copy and fax functions in a single device simplifies operations and saves a lot of desk space. If you need to handle larger print jobs (more than 10-20 pages a few times a day) or handle envelopes and small paper sizes effectively, this may not be the device for you.

PROS
1. Attractive machine; looks good in my office.
2. Performs well as a printer, copier, scanner and fax - saves lots of desk space if you need all of these functions.
3. Good-quality output.
4. Works well with Windows.
5. Handles faxes nicely on a voice-priority telephone line.
6. Customer support was helpful.

CONS
1. Relatively noisy during operation; makes lots of strange noises before every print job.
2. Awkward paper handling: a) No permanently enclosed paper tray. b) Output tray on the front panel must be opened before printing occurs. c) By default, printed pages come out in reverse order. You must check the setting "Print from last page" to overcome this. d) Printing envelopes requires you to adjust a non-intuitive "Paper Thickness" lever that is hidden deep within the belly of the printer.
3. User manual could be more friendly.

Digital camera Review: Avoid
Summary: 2 Stars

Picked this up at best buy for 65 bucks. Pretty cheap for an eye pleasing printer right? Well, i a world of "you get what you pay for." you certainly get what you pay for. I upgraded from my HP printer because I wanted a document feeder. Everything was okay at first.
Then, I tried to scan. The scanning looked like crap, i changed all of the settings around to fix it, and nothing. Then, some documents I would scan, they would print out green! WTF? Needless to say, I went back to my trusty old HP and have been happy ever since.

If you want something that will just print (loudy I might add), get this. If you want a decent printer for your money, get an HP.

Digital camera Review: Be aware...no recycled cartridge allowed
Summary: 2 Stars

It works great for the first 4 months, then it had the In use/memory light on, (this won't let you send or receive faxes) after call customer support I did learn that the problem was because the ink cartridge was "LOW"... not empty, just because the ink was low I couldn't send or receive faxes. So I bought a recycled set of cartridges, and guess what...this printer doesn't allow recycled cartridges. It isn't that great, a disposable printer.

Digital camera Review: Best I've ever had
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had nothing but trouble with HP printers. The Canon MX310 is such a wonderful change to a truly quality printer-scanner-fax, and for half the price! The software installed without a hitch in Windows XP and all functions work great. The manual is somewhat vague and it took some small amount of fiddling to operate the fax and scan modes, but in the end, not enough to remove a whole star, as it's really pretty simple to use. It also looks good, with a sleek design. I love it! Keep it up, Canon!

Digital camera Review: CANON BY FAR IS THE BEST
Summary: 5 Stars

I love Canon can't say enough good things about it. I've had 3 over the years and they last forever. Roommates usually did something to it and messed them up but they were good to me. I have tried HP, Lexmark and Canon is the only one that ever was compatible and worked fully. It is the best product out there. I think HP tried for a while to run them out of business but thank goodness they are still here. I would be lost without them.
