DIDN.T WARN ME AND PROMOTED PURCHASE OF AN OVER-PRICED USB 2.0 CABLE AS AN ACCESSORY. WASTED AN HOUR LOOKING FOR CABLE THINKING IT FELL OUT OF BOX. Once the alarm light goes on it is all over. You can send or receive faxes if you are out of ink, or even if you have ink but the machine doesn't seem to think so. It burns through ink like CRAZY. When the printer arrived it was a little bit larger than I expected, but over all I'm very pleased with everything. Set-up was a breeze and I was printing in no time. The scanner has great resolution and the copier works great as well. I have owned many multi-function machines, but never a Canon. And possibly, I never will. While the MX310 does all its jobs well (printing, faxing, etc), it is the most complicated, hard to set up, hard to use, and counterintuitive printer I have ever used. The Menus are using terms that are not common English. Every simple action takes multiple steps to do. Sometimes even the English is wrong - for example, it says "please wait momentarily" (they mean "please wait a moment"). And it is SLOOOOOWWWW! Sometimes you get a quick repetitive beeping sound which means that something is wrong, but heaven help you to find out what is wrong!
My advice: spend a few dollars more and get something more user friendly than the Canon MX310.
