We needed a new printer that could do a little more. We do alot of work from home and have found this product to be a great item that has met all of our needs, to print a clear piece, to produce a clear and crisp, color or black and white copy and then to fax documents quickly and smoothly. We have not had a need to scan any documents yet, but by looking at the other items we have done.

Product arrived as promised and in good working order. Directions from the manual was a little difficult to understand. I called customer service and they walked me through the whole process including the wireless network set-up, It works perfect. Customer service was great and very informative. The Canon printer works great and easy to operate. I had a HP D145 for six years but this canon is three times the machine the hp was. I also had a Lexmark all-in-one that lasted one year and died two days after the warranty was up. I would say anyone needing a solid printer this is one, and highly recommed it.

I have 3 complaints about this unit. It is very slow to start up. When the ink gets low you have to push 2 buttons instead of one. The ink is more expensive. These 3 issues are not problems with the earlier PIXMA MP780 I own. Newer units should be improvements not the reverse. The printer worked well. It prints well and is very quiet. The scanner is not as good as some I have used before (HP). The set up took a while and when I was done I found the updates and had to do it again. So check for updates first. Needing a USB cable (not provided) for network setup seems inconvenient. The sheet feeder and the 2 sided printing are great features. I have not yet found a way to create a fax from a paper document and quickly combine it with an electronic cover sheet (something my old HP did). I would recommend this printer for the quality and the lack of noise.
