Digital camera Review: Average camera, but nice size!

No fast shutter is kinda bummer , but other than that another fine canon product.
the battery compartment will snap off and break in a year as it is very flimsy and not easy to open. it "slides" open for access to AA battery and sd memory card.
I wanted it for the AA battery usage as where can you not get AA's if your nicads run low?
Screen is a nice size. easy controls, flash is kinda tricky for fill lighting.
picture sharpness is ok, not as good as my old sony digi cam. I like to have manual controls and this camera does not have that feature, no biggie for a point and shoot, however it's nice to have control in tricky lighting situations.
Like i said the bigest drawback it the way they made the battery door. it will break! no way around it. it is that poorly made. cheap flimsy spring and a thin plastic door make for that disaster to come.
for 200 bucks it's a nice camera for the quick point and shoot use that i needed for kids or other non pro to use.
I did not try enclosed software as i use google picasa for that.
for 200 bucks the competition is slim and this is the tops for the price range with a must have AA battery for me.

This camera takes awesome pictures, the zoom is great, and for the money is an excellent product. The one thing to be careful of is not to use it in extreeme cold. The inner lens gets foggy. It is fine once it warms back up. Great product though, unless you are ice fishing. :)Digital camera Review: Awesome camera!!

I purchased this camera on Amazon December 2009 and loved everything about it.
Pros: Very easy to use and figure out the settings of this camera. the weight and the way you hold the camera is appropriate and does not feel like it will fly off your hands. The video option works great and voice quality from video are pretty good as long as there is not too much background noise. Camera images are great and you can create great effects with lighting especially at sunrise and sunset, you can't beat the quality for the price!
Con: you've got to get a memory 4GB sd card like I did or at least a 2GB or even larger than 4GB....you can set up the settings so that you can store thousands of pictures without feeling the pressure of uploading your pics to clear the memory right away. And especially if you choose to make videos which takes more memory than pics. but this is like every digital camera and so this is not a real con!
I am totally bummed since I lent my family my camera recently and it's now lost. I brought this camera on sale for $129 but now it's listed for $248. I will check the lost & found at the Museum of Science (where it got lost) to see if I can find it! If I can't find it I will have to break down and save up for this same model. I also have plenty of friends/family that has the same or similar model which they too enjoy. I did hear that the new version of this camera does not take the clearest pics compared to this model and it is much thinner and easier to drop.

THE CANON A1100 DIGITAL CAMAERA IS THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK FEATURE FOR FEATURE. IT IS EASY TO USE. IT PROVIDES GREAT RESULTS THAT STAND OUT ON YOUR COMPUTER SCREENS. IT ALSO GIVES GREAT RESULTS WHEN PICS ARE PRINTED ON YOUR PHOTO PRINTER(S) NO MATTER WHAT SIZE PRINT. THIS CAMERA WORKS WELL IN MY DIGITAL CAMERA CLASS. MY STUDENTS HAVE BOUGHT MANY OF THIS SAME MODEL.
ONE CAN'T BEAT THE SUPER PRICE POINT AVAILABLE AT AMAZON.COM. ALSO, THE ADDITIONAL "STUFF" AVAILABLE FOR YOUR CAMERA CHOICE IS THE BEST AT AMAZON.COM, I.E. FLASH CARDS, PROTECTIVE CARRYING CASES, ET AL. WHAT'S IN THE BOX?; THE CAMERA COMES WITH EVERYTHING FOR SUPPORT YOU NEED OUT OF THE BOX.
THIS CAMERA IS A MUCH BETTER CAMERA THAN THE UPGRADED A1200 WITH THE RECHARABLE BATTERY. JUST CARRY 2 NEW AA BATTERIES WITH YOU AND YOU ARE NEVER OUT OF USE FROM LOW BATTERY LIFE. USE THE 8X BATTERIES AND ONE GETS MUCH MORE SHOOTING TIME IN THE FIELD.

Digital camera Review: Bad indoor quality, short battery life

The indoor picture quality is about the worst I have seen. If indoor pictures are important to you, do not buy this camera. Also the battery life is unacceptable. The camera comes loaded with selling points which make it sound great, but all that goes to waste once you see the end result of the actual (indoor) photos taken.
