Digital camera reviews of Canon PowerShot A1100IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Silver)Digital camera Review: Canon Powershot Review Summary: 3 Stars
Though the overall quality of this point and shoot camera seems good, there are a couple of issues I have with it.
I have found that the quality of the photos taken with a flash under florescent lights in my garage is lacking a bit.
Trying to open the camera to put batteries and/or a card in it is not easy at all.
The image stablizer is not what I thought it would be either, and some movement is detected in the photos when it is used by those not familiar with the cameras operation, such as kids.
All this being said, if a person wants a good quality and relatively cheap point and shoot camera, they won't go wrong with the A1100IS.

Great price. It did not arrive in time for the birthday but I should have changed the shipping rate!
Digital camera Review: Completely pointless Summary: 1 Stars
To say thing thing eats batteries is the understatement of the year. I went through a brand new package of AA batteries - four of them - taking photos during a 1 hour presentation. Another time, taking a total of 40 photos in the course of approximately 2 hours (not leaving the camera on during the whole time, of course) took 6 brand-new batteries. You'll be okay for a few minutes, then get a low battery warning, then it will tell you your batteries are dead and will die. The awesome thing is, your batteries aren't dead - at least, mine weren't. The same batteries that my camera told me were dead have been powering my TV remote for a matter of months.
Even if it weren't for that issue, the recovery time in between photos takes foooooreverrrrr. It drives me insane to the point where I don't even want to use it - that is, if I COULD use it.
I despise this camera. The only thing going for it is its pretty mint green color.
Digital camera Review: Constant Battery Problems Summary: 1 Stars
This camera has caused me to miss out on capturing so many meaningful events because it constantly flashes the "change batteries" prompt and shuts down. I have returned it to Canon twice and each time they have returned it to me stating that there is nothing wrong with it. I have bought the most expensive rechargeable batteries that they have recommended and still, I might get 5 - 12 shots and it again flashes "change the batteries". I have NO photos from this Christmas because of this stupid camera. I will never again purchase a Canon product because they DO NOT stand by their warranty.
Digital camera Review: Dead after not even a year Summary: 2 Stars
We bought this after our last child was born for the built in stabilizer. it worked okay. After less than a year it started sucking the life out of our rechargeable batteries. We bought new batteries, (not cheap), and a new battery charger (not cheap either).Oh, and a new internal battery ($4). Obviously, those weren't the issue. So, after maybe 500 pictures and less than a year the thing is dead. Very disappointed since I have always bought this brand. Not anymore.
