Digital camera reviews of Canon PowerShot A560 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical ZoomDigital camera Review: Broken Summary: 2 Stars
I was so excited to get my first-ever digital camera, and I did my research to get this one. First digital camera, I was enamored with the macro and zoom and detail. As more cameras have come out, I'm missing certain features (not the point of this review).
One year later, this camera is broken. I've never mishandled or misused it. One day, I pulled it out of the cupboard, put fresh batteries in, and the lcd screen on the back didn't work. And hasn't since. No rhyme or reason. I'm not rich, so I can't buy another camera, so I just settled for the optical viewfinder. That's fine, except that it doesn't line up the pictures correctly. If I aim at a tree for the center of the pic, the tree is almost out of the recorded picture. Of course, this messes up the auto focus as well... it doesn't know I'm shooting a picture of a tree, it thinks I'm aiming at the grass behind the tree...
Frustrating!
Digital camera Review: Bulky but good! Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned several Canon Powershot series cameras and they perform really well. I have had the A560 for about 2.5 years and it's about time I buy a smaller camera (i'm purchasing a Canon Elph SD940is).
The A560 is durable and it is still in great conditions! The only problem I have with the A560 is that it is too bulky to carry with me all the time. The fact that it uses AA batteries is actually great, the only thing is that you must have rechargeable batteries and a battery charger. Regular disposable batteries won't last for a day with a camera like this.
The flash is great and the Macro mode is better than average. I don't think it performs very well in low-light conditions. Overall it's a good purchase if you don't mind the extra volume and if you have a battery charger.
Digital camera Review: Buy this camera Summary: 5 Stars
This camera was a gift for my not-so-tech-savvy Mom, and she loves it. She asked for the earlier (and coincidentally) more expensive model (a520, I think) after reading about its rating in the Consumer Reports book, but I read some reviews about this one and decided to buy it. Amazon has the best price for this camera, not to mention you do not pay tax or shipping. The display is large and the camera is fairly compact and easy to use. I highly recommend this camera over other Canon models in price, ease of use, and overall picture quality (in taking regular non-artistic photos). When I need to replace my camera, I will buy a Canon.
Digital camera Review: CANON A560 Summary: 4 Stars
Nice camera for the price. Light and semi-compact. Takes great pics.
Only one complaint, the battery life is pretty short. This camera uses 2 AA batteries as opposed to my last Canon that used 4AA.
