Digital camera Review: Camera disappointment

Although it looked good in theory, the PowerShot A560 has been a major disappointment in practice.
The batteries die faster than fruit flies. I have inserted new batteries, only to find as I go for the quick, cute, candid shot of the dogs they've already died (the batteries, not the dogs).
The design is just bulky enough to be annoying, with an area that curves out for the useless batteries. Because I wind up changing the batteries so often, the casing has now come loose and doesn't close properly. Definitely a camera that needs to be babied.

I LOVE this Camera. I bought it to use on my recent road trip to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. The camera took great photos, even the ones when we were riding down the road at 65-70mph. They were not blurred. I bought a 2 GB. chip for it, so even on the 7.1 setting I could still take over 1000 photos. It was nice to have the 4x zoom lens, that can actually go up to 16x.
Before the road trip, I took this to a ballgame, and was able to get better and closer shots of the players at bat, than my friends 35mm camera with a zoom lens.
I am very satisfied with this camera. And you can't beat the price.

The A560 is a great camera, but too much for the average person. I bought this camera from other reviews. I'm still trying to figure out how it works. There are so many options. I have had the A560 since april of 08 and have had no problems out of it. It is absolutley a wonderful camera and can take a beating as i have a 1yr old. I read multiple reviews before posting this one. The good and the bad. I just have nothing bad to say about it. It can take batteries quickley I would suggest a good brand rechargable or atleast Energizer lithium. When this camera calls for new batteries you can keep the old ones for something else. Digital cameras require alot of juice to work properly but the batteries when "dead" by the camera can be used in remotes or clocks many things actually. Cheap batteries will NOT last long in this or any digital cameras. I personally have no complaints it has a beautiful quality nice zoom. You can't get more bang for you buck. Clear sharp images, good color, easy to use, tele is adequate for most users, small enough to fit into purse or pocket. On the down side the mode can be accidentally turned to movies. For the money it is a great camera.
