I love this camera. I was going on a trip to Belize with a class and I really needed a waterproof camera because a majority of the trip was snorkeling. I was really nervous about buying a waterproof camera because I know stuff can always happen and something could always go wrong. I decided to take a leap of faith and I am so happy I did. When I first put it underwater I was in a swimming pool. The pictures were amazing. Crystal clear and no water leakage. I finally took it to the coral reef and I was amazed at what came out. The pictures were rarely blurry and the colors were amazing. I took over 1200 pictures and videos on a 11 day trip. Not only are the pictures great quality, but the video is amazing. People with other waterproof cameras could not believe how crystal clear my pictures were. The quality of the pictures was so great that I could zoom in all the way on one picture and it would still be perfectly clear. I will upload some pictures and people can take a look. I would definitely recommend this camera for anyone who is taking a water-related trip.Digital camera Review: AMAZING CAMERA

We looked at the Olympus Tough and the Canon and went with the Canon because reviews said the picture quality was better and no one mentioned leaks. I was skeptical when I threw the camera in the ocean for the first time, but the waterproof claims held true. Underwater pictures are awful unless you are in underwater mode (it took me a minute to figure that one out). Beach pictures are orangy in underwater mode, but we often left it in this mode for ease of use. Video quality is also very good, and with an 8GB SDHC card we could hold over 3000 pictures.
We were in Jamaica and spent every day on the beach. This camera never left our side. Whether its on the beach, kayaking, snorkeling, water skiing or sailing, this camera makes the perfect vacation companion.
Definitely get a floating strap though, just in case.

I've been wanting a waterproof dig camera for a while but the depth limits of most (typically 10') turned me off. Along comes the Canon D10. The fact that it can go down to depths of 30' got me interested...then I read several online reviews and comparisons and this camera always ended up rated great, so i picked one up before heading to a trip to Jamaica.
Its AWESOME.
I had this camera with me regardless of the setting: swimming in the ocean, pool, waterfall, wherever and whenever. Its controlls are easy. Its settings are powerful. Its picture and video quality is phenom.
Tips:
- Use the preset settings function (IE: "sunset" or "underwater", etc).
Canon really tweaks the settings to give you the best pictures under the defined conditions.
- Read the manual. This camera has some powerful features that are easy to miss.
Ive owned a G9 for years but never took the time to learn the special features it could do such as isolate a single color and display all else as black and white.
With this camera i read the manual from front to back on the flight and am glad i did. Trust me, its worth your time to do this. dont just use it as point and shoot in Auto. You'll love what you can do.
- The accessories kit. Its certainly ridiculously overpriced, however the accessories cables are handy. I used the long cable as an over the shoulder strap for snorkling. It easily zips tight when swimming and loosens for easy shots
and video without ever worring about dropping the camera. I used the caribeaner cable for walking thru waterfalls or leaning over boats sides so that even if i dropped the camera, it'd still be attached to me. Worth it if you will take the camera on more action based situations.
The canon D10 will run you a little bit more than the other underwaters in its class but you will be happy you spent it. Its awesome.

This camera takes great pictures, underwater and out. Canon did a great job with this one. I used it at a kid's birthday party and one of his favorite gifts was a water gun. He kept spraying everyone whether they wanted him to or not. I had him spray me while I took his picture and it turned out incredible! How many other cameras would you encourage a child to shoot a water gun at? I have played with all of the different settings and have really been impressed with the way the pictures turn out. I am looking forward to taking this camera diving in a few weeks! Definitely recommend this one!
