Digital camera reviews of Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-Inch LCD

Digital camera Review: Best Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best camera I ever owned. I live in The Bahamas and use this camera all the time. In the boat on fishing trips and it takes great pictures. Easy to use and durable.

Digital camera Review: Best Family Fun Camera
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros: It's small, lightweight, waterproof, does both photo & video, easy to use (easy enough for my grandma even), and has good picture quality. What more could I want!

Cons: I doesn't have a very wide angle, but I knew that going into the purchase. And it did a this weird thing that if I was in video mode and zoomed in during videoing, it wouldn't focus on the subjects. I'm not positive, but I don't think that's normal. I have a regular Canon Powershot 800is (had it now for a few years) and I've never noticed it not keep the focus while zooming in and out during video mode. It was minor irritation, but I thought I should mention it.

I am a professional wedding photographer and am a big fan of Canon products. It is hard for me not to take my big, fat professional cameras with me where ever I go, but when I'm playing around with my kiddos and need something small, lightweight, and not as expensive (in case it gets stolen), the Canon powershot camera line is awesome. So when I decided to get a digital waterproof last minute before a family vacation, it was kind of a no-brainer.

A friend of mine has a cute little, Panosonic digital waterproof camera (bought it almost a year ago) and he loves it. I've seen his images from that camera and they are very good...so I was tempted to go with his recommendation, but being as I already have quite the Canon collection, I know they make good, solid, easy to use products, I decided on this one. Glad I did. I've only owned it for one month but it's already been on two vacations (I lent it to a friend going to Hawaii, plus our family vacation in Alabama) and is currently on a third one (lent it to my sister-in-law on her Mexico honeymoon). So far so good. I don't think anyone has taken it past 6 feet, so I don't know how well it does deeper and such.

Digital camera Review: Best Water Proof offering on market
Summary: 5 Stars

We had a Olympus 1030Sw. We were fairly pleased with it with only minor problems like the lens cover not coming open. That is until it died the last day of our Mexico vacation. The pictures were not bad, but certainly not great. I decided to replace it when the Canon. WOW. The picture quality blows the Olympus out of the water. I have seen some complaints that it does not have a lens cover, but trust me. Those have problems all of their own. The camera is a little bigger and bulkier, but nothing that can not be overlooked. The only think that the Olympus had on the Canon was a warning on the LCD if the covers were not completely closed, although that did not make a difference in mine not being so water proof. I would recommend this over the Olympus any day of the week.

Digital camera Review: Best camera Ive ever had!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this camera.... i works great underwater, which was the main reason i bought it. It also takes amazing pictures. It is a little bulky, though and it got a couple scratches on the screen. But, I love it! i take it everywhere, use it in the rain, and the pool, and even the ocean, but the water was cloudy and it was pretty new when i went to the beach and i didn't want to risk anything happening to it, so i didn't take it deep. I recomend this camera for anyone.... I think it's completely worth the price. I'm fifteen and i saved up my birthday and Christmas money and spent it on this.

Digital camera Review: Best camera ever
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this camera almost a year ago, and I LOVE it! It has been underwater in Key West, with manatees in Crystal River, FL, in waves in the Gulf of Mexico, and in hot tubs, pools, waterfalls, showers, bath tubs, and in the rain! It also goes everywhere to take pictures when I am NOT under water. ;-) It is easy to use, has very good battery life, and is shock resistant so I do not worry about it. My 6 year old niece loves using it too, and takes great pictures with it. Software is super easy to load, and you just plug USB cord from camera to computer to upload pictures from camera to computer. Features are great. Love black and white, sepia, and color accent features. Sunset, kid/pets, and night scene are modes I use a lot.

With all my cameras in the past, I had to worry about not taking my camera in kayaks, canoes, or to the beach, or had to risk ruining the camera if I did take it. Now this camera goes everywhere. It has a cool "submarine" look. My brother bought one after I loved mine so much. We bought an accessory kit (which I would definitely recommend even though it is expensive) and put the camo color panel on his to replace the bright blue. The accessory kit also has optional carry straps which I have found to be useful, and a cool neoprene case.

Everybody asks me about this camera--where can they get one, and so on. I would highly recommend it. A few "cons" or suggestions: 1) I am very careful with the seals, and never open the battery compartment or USB door if camera is damp, or if I am outside near dirt or sand. 2) This camera is not as tiny as some, which was a drawback for me. However, it gets far better reviews as far as picture quality than any of the other waterproof cameras I have seen or heard about, and I have not been at all disappointed with my choice! It fits easily into a purse or backpack of course, you don't even feel it. It just isn't tiny enough to fit comfortably into a pocket. 3) It only has a 3.0 x optical zoom. This was a drawback for me. However, the photo quality is amazing to me even with digital zoom to 12.0 x. (Probably would not be if blowing up big enlargements.) 4) Flash is too bright to me when close up. Really wish it had a soft flash, or half flash. However, camera takes photos without flash in all but the lowest light. 5) Battery life is great. However, it doesn't give you much notice about battery being low before it goes completely dead. I also bought an extra battery--got one for great price on Amazon--and this makes a huge difference...I always have one battery charged.

Buy the camera, and have fun!
