It'd be helpful if there were a WARNING to buy a memory card with the camera. This is my first experience with a digital camera that did not come with everything you needed to be "up and running" in the box. POOH on Canon.
Instead of the FREQUENTLY BOUGHT WITH THIS ITEM... maybe it needs to say somewhere in the SPECS or PRODUCT REVIEW [ok, I admit we did not read it CAREFULLY before purchase] that a memory card is NOT INCLUDED ... as in, batteries not included.

i was very excited to get the camera since i have had a big bulky Kodak easy share for six years. The cannon Powershot SD1200 iS is 1/3rd of the size of my kodak and is very sleek looking.
After setting everything up, i took my first picture. I was amazed at the face-detection, and how it tracks the face as it moves, which is perfect for capturing children. I was also impressed with the lack of lag time in between pictures and when turning on the camera. However, the only down point is that there is no fireworks setting, thus creating a blurr in the pictures for those great summer-time nights.
Overall, i am satisfied with the camera, and would definitely recommend it.

The camera arrived promptly, however; upon using it I found that it had an annoying issue. When turned on in the "auto" program, the lens constantly made noise and the lens would try and focus repeatedly until the shutter button was held down and ultimately take the photo. This did not occur in any other mode.
I returned the camera as I was unsure if it was defective or my dissatisfaction.
Additionally, as other reviewers noted the viewfinder is too small and useless.

Received quickly. 1st time digital camera recommeded to me for trip. Still need to figure out all the functions. So far so good. Easy to download pictures and send.
