Digital camera reviews of Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Dark Gray)Digital camera Review: An Elph with an optical viewfinder! Summary: 4 Stars
I spent a lot of time looking for a digital point & shoot camera with an optical viewfinder in addition to - or instead of - the live-view that comes on all the point&shoots today. The live-view is absolutely useless in bright light. Also, because I use a DSLR canera, I am more accustomed to using an optical view finder. I was happy when I found that this Canon Elph was still available ... but I don't know for how long, so I feel very lucky to have been able to get it now! It is compact and serves my purpose: to have a little camera handy on hiking and skiing outings. I just wish it had a longer optical zoom ... like up to 10X.
Digital camera Review: Another Disappointing Canon Camera Summary: 2 Stars
This is my second attempt to give a Canon digital camera a try~once again~a disappointment. The indoor picture quality is lousy. Auto mode is apparently
useless. The pic's come out grainy and dark if you are taking a pic with limited light indoors & some were even dark just in one part of the pic. The color of things in some of the pic's was COMPLETELY off. For example, a wall or tablecloth that is white or creme was YELLOW / GREEN. I previously purchased a Canon Powershot A1100IS and THAT camera ALSO took poor indoor pictures. If you are looking for a point & shoot that takes great pic's, I would keep looking. I am done with Canon and will try another brand.
Digital camera Review: Another perfect product from Canon Summary: 5 Stars
I owned a Canon Powershot A85 for many years until the imaging sensor died.....then I made really big mistake by purchasing an Olympus Stylus 550. I could go on about the MANY shortcomings of the Stylus 550 but here are a few. Extremely short battery life in temps nearing the teens, sound quality is terrible, shutter speed....well lets just say you better always have a tripod regardless of the available light, but why waste any more time talking about a bad camera. The Canon Powershot SD exceeded my beloved A85 in so many ways I can't list them all. The video is crisp with excellent audio, ease of use can't be beat and best of all the battery life lasts in zero temps! Thanks Canon for another outstanding product!
Digital camera Review: Awesome Camera Summary: 5 Stars
This camera takes amazing pictures. The photos are clear and crisp and the color is absolutely vivid.
I purchased this particular camera because it was given a great review by Consumer Reports, and they were right!
I am extremely pleased with my new Canon Poweshot SD 1200. It's everything you need in a digital camera.
Digital camera Review: PICTURES....... Summary: 2 Stars
I HAD a Nikon Coolpix before this, and was pretty happy with it (has a much easier rocker-panel type zoom, rather than the ring around the shutter button that this one has!), but the lens, after a very minor trauma, broke (wouldn't retract). So, after hearing that this had happened fairly frequently with other Coolpix cameras, I decided to try a Canon. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!!! I take A LOT of pictures of my very active 19-month-old daughter, and a good MAJORITY of these pictures are BLURRY, even when taken in good lighting and using the autofocus feature!! I took about 20 pictures this morning, and I would say that about 12-14 (I didn't count) will have to be deleted due to blurriness! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!! I mean, she doesn't move at lightning speed, and in some of them was BARELY moving!! I looked for ways to change the settings (shutter speed), but found NOTHING!! SO, I am VERY disappointed with this stupid camera, and am looking FORWARD to breaking it so I can go and buy another NIKON COOLPIX, which, except for the lens issue (breaking with minor trauma), took great pictures, MOST of which WEREN'T
