Digital camera Review: Best camera for the price for a consumer not looking for DSLR Summary: 5 Stars
Out of the box and on auto this thing takes great pictures, more then good enough for non-professional family type stuff. It's also incredibly fast at auto focusing and getting to the right settings on its own, that's probably because of the digic 4 processor but either way you can shake it up and it'll refocus and acclimate itself in less then a second. It's awesome. There are marginally better point and shoots available but for the price/quality this is your best bet by a long shot. Someone else mentioned it but the lens and auto focus do make a faint buzzing sound frequently, no big deal.
Update: bought a 2nd one with a spare battery and some other goodies for family stuff.
Digital camera Review: Best camera with good price... Summary: 5 Stars
Canon SD1200 is small in size, fits in your palm. Picture quality is excellent. It is better than what I expected about this product.
Digital camera Review: Blurry Pictures Summary: 2 Stars
I recently bought the Powershot SD1200 after I lost my SD1100 which I loved. I also own a Canon Rebel SLR, so I've always been very happy with my Canons. I am unhappy with the quality of the pictures even when they do come out clear...I've never had a camera that took such blurry pictures! I'm not sure if it's my individual camera that has an issue, or if anyone else has experienced similar problems. I'm thinking of giving this away and buying the SD780 IS- which I've heard good things about.
Digital camera Review: Blurry images Summary: 1 Stars
I have been buying Canon Powershots for years: SD400, SD600, SD1100 (purchased in 2008) and have greatly enjoyed their portability and excellent, sharp images. I even hiked and *trail ran* with them, and they have held up well considering. However, lately the image quality has degraded to what I would call poor. Powershots used to be sharp from edge to edge (with possibly a *very slight* softness at the corners). However, I have now tried 3 recent Powershots including two SD12000s that have significant areas of image blurriness right out of the box. The SD1200 I just returned had a full *1/3* of the image area on the right that was blurry and/or showed double images. I even sent a recent SD1100 (purchased 2009) for repair and it came back blurry from the factory repair center! It was a brand-new optical assembly. I'm not buying another Powershot until they recognize and fix their quality issues.
