This camera is extremely light and portable, perfect for throwing in the purse or pocket. Great megapixel size, good quality pictures. Only thing I've found so far that I miss is a zoom function. I had chosen to forgo this feature for the smallness of the camera, but think I made a mistake. I'm very used to my Canon Rebel and having many zoom lenses, but thought it wouldnt bother me to not have zoom. Wrong! So far I like the camera, however a printed manual would be much appreciated. All that comes with this camera is the small "Getting Started" booklet, and all else must be accessed via the computer disk, which is very inconvenient when in the field with the camera. There are too many features and controls to memorize the functions, and the controls are not all simply intuitive.Digital camera Review: Canon Quality

New shape looks good, has a little heft suggesting a lot is to be expected from it's small size. This purchase is the second of two SD1200s bought as family gifts. Easy to use and was no challenge for my wife in the upgrade from her old SD1000.
