Digital camera reviews of Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash for Canon Digital SLR CamerasDigital camera Review: A little more affordable than the 580EX II Summary: 5 Stars
I love this flash! THe manual settings allow me to use it as fill flash during the day and give the model a sparkle to their eye. I don't use it wirelessly but there are some products on the market that allow you to. This flash is very powerful and fits the needs of a hobbyist amateur photographer.
Digital camera Review: A true amateur with DSLR but my pictures look great! Summary: 5 Stars
After purchasing my first DSLR, the Canon XSI Rebel, I'm beginning to add some accessories. I liked the reviews for the 430EX II but wasn't sure I should spend nearly $250 for a flash. It appeared to be a better mount so I spend the extra and I'm glad I did. I'll probably never use all the features but I like being able to bounce the light off ceilings and walls and not flood the picture with too much light. I place emphasis on quality and for an amateur, there is definitely quality in this flash.
Digital camera Review: A very good flash Summary: 5 Stars
I use a rebel XTI and the 430 EX II seems perfect. I am able to get proper illumination for any indoor and outdoor shots.I am currently enjoying this flash and I dont see any negative yet. Anyone looking for a flash, should look for 430 EX II before a 580 EX II, to understand what u need. This flash is enough for a 90 % of amateurs. Amazon shipped it really fast.
Digital camera Review: A very handy tool! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this flash to use on my Rebel XSi and I love it! I also bought a Sto-fen omni-bounce diffuser and the combination is wonderful. I get great lighting (almost natural looking) with no harsh shadows and can make do with the kit lens I am stuck with for a while to take pictures indoors in low light. I highly recommend this and am glad I bought it!
Digital camera Review: A world of difference Summary: 5 Stars
Adding the Canon Speedlite 430EX II made a world of difference in my photography. No longer constrained by the limited power of the built-in flash of my EOS 20D, it opened up a world of photo opportunities. I bought it on Thursday, got it Friday and shot my first event on Saturday. Eventually I will study the manual and learn to tailor the performance to match the environment, but for my first event I left everything on auto and it worked like a charm. Even with my Canon EF 100-300mm zoom, the flash output adjusted automatically. I got some great shots my first time out that I never could have achieved with the built-in flash. I recommend it highly.
