Digital camera reviews of Canon UV-1 58mm Haze FilterDigital camera Review: Not very convinced Summary: 3 Stars
I used this filter for the S3 IS and did not see too much of a difference in the photos (possibly because it was the winter sun which is really not that strong)
Digital camera Review: OEM Canon UV filter Summary: 5 Stars
I put these on my lenses primarily for protection of the primary lens. This is an inexpensive piece of insurance for a very expensive camera lens. To find this OEM product at a deal makes it even sweeter!
Digital camera Review: Poor quality workmanship Summary: 2 Stars
For the price I guess it's ok but not 2 days after I put it on my camera the glass came loose and started vibrating in the frame. It's very light and thin and will probably break easily.
Digital camera Review: Review of what? Summary: 4 Stars
Ok - I'm not to sure how to review these uv/clear glass filters. Here's what I wrote for one of a different diameter:
"Ok, there's not much really to rate here. I think that some UV/clear glass filters might be bad (obvious distortion, easily scratched etc.)- but most of them offer nothing much more than some cheap glass to protect your expensive glass.
(Nothing appreciable anyway - I cannot discern their different UV blocking properties.)"
I mean seriously, if it's kept clean then the resulting distortion or chromatic aberration should be pretty minimal/unnoticeable.
:) Umm . . . that said, I still take it off every now-and-again - sometimes it confuses the autofocus in low light if it has to use the flash for focusing.
Digital camera Review: S3 IS Accessories Summary: 4 Stars
Works well on a normal camera
Tried it with adapter on S3 IS and adapter does not fit robustly.
Filter is Ok
