Digital camera Review: Easier to Clean and Replace Than Your Front Element
Summary: 4 Stars

I never take my UV filter off of my lens unless I am going to immediately put on a different filter. There are basically two camps out there, those that feel you should always use a UV filter to protect your lens from dirt and scratches and those that feel it is a waste of time and only degrades your image. Well, I tried going without one for awhile and then dirt started to build up on the front element of my very expense lens. And although you can clean the front element of a lens, I feel much, much safer wiping my comparatively cheap UV filter time and time again rather than chancing any actual lens damage. I think for the nearly unquantifiable loss in image quality you may suffer by having a UV filter on, it is well worth the extra piece of mind it gives me.

Digital camera Review: Filter
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought 2 of these, purely as protection for my Lenses, but they do in fact give a certain amount of 'warmness' to my photographs. In the past, on my old Canon SLR, I always used a 'skylight' filter on my lenses, but I assume these have the same or similar effect. I haven't found that I lose enough light to worry about leaving them on all the time, which I do even when taking night photos. I'd recommend that everyone put these on their lenses, purely to avoid the risk of scratches.

Digital camera Review: Filter Review
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for my Canon EOS Rebel XS and it has worked wonderfully. I have two small sons who I like to photograph and they have a fascination with touching my camera lens. I purchased this to prevent them from damaging my lenses, to protect my lens from UV glare, and to prevent the elements from depositing debris on my lens.

The filter is crystal clear and does not affect my shots in any way. It is easy to attach/remove and is definitely worth the money!

Digital camera Review: Good Filter and Lens Protector
Summary: 4 Stars

Good quality, authentic Canon filter. Fits as it should, at least on Canon lenses, doesn't inhibit lens hood installation, protects the lens, can't say I notice a picture quality difference in most situations I shoot, but have noticed an improvement in longer distance landscape shots (over another filter I've used).

Digital camera Review: Good Glass
Summary: 5 Stars

Why put a $10 piece of glass in front of your $500 lens? When ever I put anything between the lens and the subject I always make sure that it is of the same quality of the lens or better. Canon lens, Canon filter.
