I got this for in between the bucket seats in my Town and Country and it works perfectly there. It is made to sit on a seat I think but it is fine on the floor. Holds everything I need it to. A bottle of water, kids sippy cup, remote for the DVD player, charge cord for my phone, a few CD's, and anything else I need in reach Oh like an extra Nuk for the baby. Great little deal. I like to keep a semi-organized car (SUV) so I got this item to organize all of those little things that get tossed in the vehicle.
I do not keep mine in the center console but rather on the floor in front of my passenger seat or behind the driver's seat and it fits great. It does hold a lot of items.
The item is attractive and worth the cost, however, when emptied, it does not fold down completely. I found this out while taking it on a long road trip where space was sparce and had a heck of a time trying to fold it down to fit in the nook and crannies between luggage.

This was an exceptional buy that serves my organizing needs very well. It's sits on the center of my back seat in my truck and holds a box of kleenex, a copy of books on cd's, maps, misc gum/etc. and a couple of bottles of water....perfect....and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I highly recommend....maybe not built as stout as some but works just fine and is quite stable.
