Digital camera Review: A battery with a bit of a bug

Battery good, no problems! However using proper charger means occasionally it flashes red and refuses to charge. This can be cured by "jump-starting" (+ to +, - to -) it with a 9v battery for 10 seconds or so - it puts enough voltage into it to allow the charger to recognise it and charge it properly (solid red light for ~90mins). Batteries may explode if short circuited so the author takes no responsibility for the actions you may choose in this method!Digital camera Review: A good battery that sometimes has problems

The Casio NP-20 is an incredibly small, thin battery that provides great performance for compatible Exilim digital cameras. That is, when it works properly. The problem with this battery is (or can be), that it can suddenly become un-rechargeable for no apparent reason. This is indicated by a flashing red light in the compatible battery charger (Casio BC-11L) when the battery is inserted for recharging. The one good thing is, these days you can often buy a replacement original Casio battery on Amazon used for $10-$12, instead of the original $40 or so for a new one. I've bought several used ones that work as good as new, although I've also had one or two with the "flashing red light of death indicator" as well.Digital camera Review: An easy fix for the NP-20

My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.

what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.

I received this camera as a gift from my niece. The battery went dead and will not charge. The charger blinks on and off indicating this. Apparently, there is a "flaw" in the battery. My niece owns the same camera, called the company and was sent a new battery - no charge. Her friend also had the same issue with her battery. I am now having the same problem. Casio, do you THINK MAYBE there is a problem with these batteries??? I emailed Casio tonite and will keep emailing them until I receive an answer. I am looking at getting a free replacement, otherwise, I am switching to another company. Lots of choices out there.Digital camera Review: Bad product

On my 2nd Casio NP-20. This is a very poor product. Will charge for a while and then suddenly will not hold a charge. Casio makes a decent camera but their batteries are garbage.
