Even the name says it is a data cable, it does provide the power to charge the phone (mine is Samsung magnet A257).
Every things worked as expected. Although I suggest not to use the software that comes with the cable but to download the latest Samsung NEW PC STUDIO free from their website.

Usb cable worked great, its only like 2 cents so its realy worth the price, only bad thing was it stoped working after 5 months witch was a nice long run. Both my pcs couldnt read it, nor my laptop, nor my xbox 360, or even my friend pc. I know its not my phone because my phone can be read on my friends usb, i was going to rate it 3 stars but i remembered the price, overall good prduct, just wish it lasted a little longer.Digital camera Review: flawless

The cable worked flawlessly with my Samsung Eternity (A867) and even worked with a friend's Samsung Impression (A877) even though it was not listed as compatible. Impressive, especially since it only cost me a penny plus $2.98 shipping and handling. High quality cable.Digital camera Review: noon
