Digital camera Review: I can't find a downside here.

I purchased this item as an astronomy pointer after years of frustration trying to point out constellations to my family. On a dark night you really can see the laser beam in the air. It is faint but easily visible, and perfect for a sky pointer.
On a foggy night, it is like having a 30-foot green light saber. I don't know why it goes 30 feet and then cuts off, but that's what it looked like.
On a snowy night, wave it rapidly side-to-side and it cuts swaths of thousands of bright-green snowflakes. Quite a sight.
Yes, you can see the green dot in the daytime, although not the beam.
Finally, I've been shining it for several minutes a day for over a month, and can't complain about the battery usage. Still going on the first set of batteries.
Considering the price, I could not be more pleased. BDC

It works ok. It is NOT a true 5mw laser though.
Max 3.4 for the first 90 seconds and then drops from there.
After 10-30 seconds on/off for about 10 minutes you have to let it cool down. The lasers gets very very dim and you can barely see it.
But in about 20 mins it is ready to go again.
It works fine for astronomy/brief pointing activities.
10 second/30 second intervals.
Hey, what do you excpet from a $40.00 laser pointer.
You can see it in the day and night.
In fog at night you will have your very own lightsaber.
I know, I took my certified 5mw laser out and this one and you could see them both very clearly.
So, if you want a green laser pointer on the cheap that works pretty good, this one will do the job.
If you need one to point for 60plus seconds at a time for more than 10 minutes you will need to spend at least $100.00 and get a true 5mw laser elsewhere.

our company has been trying to find a laser pointer that will work with a back projection screen in a very large room. Most lasers get lost esspecially red. This pointer works great. Highly Recommended.
