Digital camera Review: Better than what I expected
Summary: 4 Stars
Received yesterday. Used 2 minutes to open the box, 5 minutes to hook up the power and network cable, and another 2 minutes to key in user ID and password. The first call was made in less than 10 minutes. Total 10 calls yesterday and sound quality is better than what I expected.
The only thing I don't like is the other side can't see my SkypeIn number. This will prevent the other side from answering my call. It's Skype's problem, not the phone's problem. SKYPE GOT TO FIX IT.

It is truly one of the products that satisifes a need in the market. I was looking for Skype phone for my parents in India that did not need a computer as they found operating a PC cumbersome. Linksys is the best brand there for communication access equipment and Amazon is the best place to buy stuff. Skype is the best IP voice provider and its Skype-In service clubs very well with this product. All in all a very satisfactory product and worthy buy. Would recommend it to all International callers.
One drawback though is the lack of support for 230 V adaptors and surprisingly Linksys customer service is the the most dis-courteous I've come across. Product though is the best.
Digital camera Review: Buggy firmware

Great look and feel. Very easy to setup and was up and working in 5 minutes. The handset is very nice. However, periodically the unit will get stuck in startup mode and one gets the message "System is starting up" on the handset. On previous occasions a simple power-off/on cycle fixed the problem. However, my unit never got out of the start-up phase within 20 days of the product. The technical support folks at Linksys were very helpful, but could not get the problem fixed and asked me to return the unit. That is what I ended up doing: returning the unit for a refund. Wait for the next release of the product, monitor the Linksys user's group discussion to see when the problem is fixed and/or check out the Phillips VOIP841 product.
Another issue that I noticed was that putting the microphone on mute ended up creating a lot of noise on the line for other participants on the call when I was using Skypeout with the handset. This occured on two occasions.
Also, the power adapters (one for base station and one for charging the handset batteries) that are sold with the unit in US are only for 110 V and hence cannot be used in 220v countries without using a voltage transformer.

I've bought this one based upon reviews that I've read here at amazon. I liked the product very much, despite I thought it was a pure wi-fi phone and it would work with my actual Apple's Aiport Extreme Base Station without needing to install anything else. Unfortunately it didn't and I had to install Linksys own antenna too.
Than I needed to go after a spare RJ-45 cable + an Ethernet switch-hub to connect it to Airport Extreme
2nd thing is that when you got the product's handset on it's base for recharging, it's screen keep all the time back-lighted. No way to turn it off.
Beyond that, the product works fine and I recommend it.
